Wired magazine has become a stellar investigative source for bringing truth and fact into focus. I love the Kennedy quote! Thank you always for my morning update.

And that’s a huge problem.

Many niche outlets are doing great reporting. The problem is the atomization, that’s no longer any major outlet doing a huge quantity if important, trustworthy reporting. We here are news nerds; we’ll do the work to find the good reporting; the average person does not. And here we are.

Best value for money going...oh, and TPM of course. But Wired nails some big stories, and we get the daily newsletter for openers.

"The two officials — chief of staff Chad Mizelle and Stanley Woodward, the nominee for the No. 3 slot at DOJ —"

Stanley Woodward...bloody hell, another lawyer from the tRump MAL docs case, last seen in Aileen Cannon's courtroom defending — inter alia — Walt Nauta. And here he is again, up for a high-level DOJ position.

Question: Who amongst tRump's innumerable legal flotillas HASN'T been appointed to his administration? Giuliani, Epshteyn...anyone else?

"Violating longstanding DOJ policies, the White House has embedded social media teams with the FBI while it executes arrest warrants in D.C..."

NOT appearing in WH vids are the unconscionably violent takedowns of DC residents by tRump's *squadristi* as recorded by private citizens...horrific thuggery, targeting "suspected immigrants" without any pretense of an orderly procedure, just plain brutality.

So many incredibly important news stories - we stay tuned about 12 hours a day, internet, substack, MSNBC, and we find ourselves breathless each night as we close out our day.

So now prospective applicants for citizenship must show they are "of good moral character". Oh, you mean like President Trump? Convicted sexual assualter, cheated on ALL his wives, lies and cheats with impunity. THAT kind of 'good moral character"?

That first item re the antitrust grift and the excitement over same is one of these things irking me.

In this case the difference between the described grift and the pre-Khan SOP of having lobbyists come in and influence things is insignificant. Institutions have been long corrupted without anyone in a position to do anything caring about the rot.

And I’d add that it’s fairly clear that what brought us to this point is the failure or reluctance to maintain or repair, the tendency as a result to just let things rot. Of course that comes from a thoroughly corrupted system.

My point — and frustration — is over the failure to see things in and with a proper perspective. It follows from that that energies get misdirected.
