Thank you for this rundown of the news. It is hard enough to read, I can only imagine what it might be to write. I hope your weekend offers the balancing effects of companionship and creativity.
The Redistricting War gathers steam as now Missouri looks like joining in with Texas and Florida. The South shall rise again. Meanwhile Oregon has a trick up its sleeve (hint: think of prison populations and also tribal representations,)
As ever, this is a fine rundown of the news. However, with the latest round of Substack boosting posts by a prominent pro-Nazi historian on their platform, it really seems like a good time to get off of Substack's pipeline. Since the editorial blog isn’t on it, it seems like moving would be feasible?
Yup, purging principled folks following the law from government leaves only the blind fealty spouting “lawyers” who couldn’t get hired by law firms outside of government. I appreciate your work! I'm thankful for all of your efforts to keep readers/citizens informed. THIS is our country, our democracy, our attempts to behave justly! We have to know in order to participate in protecting what we say we value ❤️
