The targeted shootings of the Minnesota legislators unleashed — to absolutely no one's surprise — a torrent of conspiracy-mongering by the usual far- right suspects on social media, led by — of course — Elno on Twitter/X, but even more despicable the postings of US Senator Mike Lee of Utah. This man has some serious issues, and the vileness of his comment drew huge criticisms across the board, including many from his home state.
Political violence is a problem unto itself, but those who exploit and profit from on-line sensationalism are the very worst, making light of people's deaths, and utterly trivializing murder itself...the MAGA mindset revealed, yet again.
As I said somewhere else, since the reconstruction era following our Civil War an overwhelming majority of the domestic terrorism involving violence or the threats of violence has been due to perpetrators on the right. There are periods of relatively low activity but in times of rapid change and general unrest the incidences rise. We are in one of those periods. I would guess it's been going on since well before 2016. We are a very violent society and not all the violence: the mass shootings, the school shootings etc are politically motivated. The majority are not. What's new and very troubling to me is that now such violence is beginning to be condoned and encouraged and even legally pardoned by one political faction who is of course on the Right. They are like parents who coddle, pamper and encourage their violent children.

After the peacefulness of No Kings Day, I guess those special prioritizes prosecutors have their own "rubber room" full of checkers and TV. Unless Alina dreams up something.
