Just heard an NPR reporter remark that the latest white supremacist mass killer “acted alone.” Seems to me he had plenty of help. A gun-wielding racist doesn’t unleash his rage on Black people unless that killer has been marinating in a sauce of hate cooked up by many, many other people.

Florida’s pathetic and weak governor, who does not want white people who are racist in today’s times to feel guilty about it, or to learn about any issues uniquely affecting African Americans during the USA’s short history in Florida’s schools, has a hurricane heading for his state. The “state of emergency” should have been declared months ago because people there are not safe, and it should not be lifted until DiSantis reverses all the policies he implemented that were designed to appeal to right-wing, GOP and Fox-fed deniers that racism exists in the USA and Florida. The article on Worrell is terrifying. The "search warrant" on the Kansas Newspaper is a not so quiet echo.

Why IS it so hard for some cops to follow their own rules? Why is it so hard for other cops to call them out on it? Why is it so hard to fight cop culture?

Would more stringent whistleblower rules help? And REALLY stringent retaliation rules. Hell, even the buddies of that soldier who killed the Afghan civilian ratted on him. Is it SO hard to buck the trend with the cops? One hint--trump pardoned the murderer. As long as our leaders condone letting those with power get away with abusing it there can be no reform.
