tRump's absurd EO on "voting reforms" was a completely rogue usurpation of powers not delegated to the Executive, and could have easily been ignored by any agency tasked with implementing its provisions. But since this is tRump 2.0, and what was obvious 12 months ago — legally, constitutionally, traditionally — holds no longer, there was no choice by civic and political interests but to sue, as otherwise these legally deficient EOs take on a life of their own, and through the miracle of "normalization" somehow become quasi-"law" and legitimized until proven to the contrary.
Thank you for your very concise and informative column, Mr Kurtz, which I am recommending to as many of my Aussie family, friends, & acquaintances who are still talking to me.

The "new normal" indeed.

Some good news.
Looking for some really
good news tomorrow in
NY.
I really wish whatever is
left of the republican
house and senate would
find their backbones and
tell deal leader he IS
bound by the
Constitution and our
laws, whether he likes it
or not.
