Absolutely brilliant, David...posted this as a "note", and an excellent prècis of the state of play in US public health under Rat-fuck, Jr. Earlier on regarding HHS and the decimation of NIH/NSF, we would ask, "Can it get any worse?"...Answer: of course it can and it will, foretelling the chaos and degradation ahead, as no "guardrails", "checks and balances", or even common sense will forestall this scenario.
I may be guilty of some species of political paranoia but it seems like Trump and his cabal are actively and intentionally trying to weaken and damage our country in a broad spectrum of ways. I would think that this would be apparent even to principled conservatives, and surely there are some such remaining. How can anyone still support this man?

What Kennedy and Company are doing to advances in healthcare will never be recovered from or reversed. That is a crime. Kennedy is a traitor. Giving another traitor, January 6th rioter, a military funeral from our Air Force is a disgrace and more proof that the commander in thief is unfit for duty.

Well I am a 77 year old ex-hippy and veteran and have been in my fair share of fistfights when I was younger, but I agree with you in the main. We can't love ourselves out of the present predicament true, but 'Soft Secession' is an option to violence as is a nationwide General Strike.
Look at it for a moment: California, Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois, New York and most of New England.
How do you get crops, goods and people from California to all but Oregon and Washington without going through Trumplandia? How do you get goods and people from Illinois that can't fly to...anywhere? You don't think that semis carrying food will get through Trumplandia from California without getting harassed and hijacked? Without having to pay huge tolls? And when those living in Trumplandia want to immigrate? Companies with offices in both "countries"?
The AFL CIO protest has a slight slant towards worker's rights, while the MayDay protest leans more into civilian rights. Each speaks out against the Trump Regime.
Both have marches and rallies, while the AFL CIO is also hosting picnics and parades. They each share some of the same local events. Why not attend both?
