Cornyn blocking the Blanche thing falls under the I'll believe it when I see it thing.

And, of course, if rejected (again: as if), Blanche can stay at DOJ doing all the usual shit pulling that's his normal job as it were. Being AG is little more than an honorarium. Practically speaking, not big difference whether or not he's AG.

As for the Times subpoena farce (if that's the word): Good as David's report is (it's very good!) the context needs to be touched on again.

The sequence is the gift of the plane was announced. That it was lacking *a lot* of equipment an Air Force was reported at the time.

Then the Don goes to the NATO thing and swaps out the gift plane for the old AF1. The Times reports that that was due to the *previously reported* lack of equipment.

Subpoenas are served regarding that reporting. And while that farces slowly oozes ahead, Trump essentially claims that the gift plane is lacking equipment as both previously and initially reported.

Suffice to say, the subpoena thing is connected to a proceeding that doesn't even rise to the level of frivolous.

Stellar writeup,David, on the DOJ pursuit of the NYT reporters, and the not unexpected clusterfuck which has resulted therefrom. Honest to Christ, when barely competent — and that's a stretch — prosecutors meet the federal courts, the history of the past 18 mos. suggests that invariably a judge will crap all over prosecutorial conduct, especially where govt. lawyers ignore firmly established legal precedence and case law.

So, what do you reckon? DOJ recalls the subpoenas and cancels grand-jury appearances? Or, does the govt. try to soldier on in the face of what will be an exceptionally unpersuadable court? My guess is they'll pull back, after having put the frighteners on the Times and its reporters.

Well, if screw ups are a reason to pause something, how about trying it out on the war with Iran?

Quite a window into clayton, current USA for SDNY, and nominee for dci. To live like this? Why not just offer the rest of us hemlock?

Trump had no idea that fascism was so hard. Is Cornyn, after decades of meek service to the plutocracy, going to be the mouse that roared? Don't bet on it.

I guess they have just dismissed the Epstein/Trump coverup and Blanche’s disrespect towards the victims. Surprise—not.

Why is the plane maroon and dark blue and beige?
