It’s Friday so I’ll limit the negativity I mean reality to the recurring reminder that the trademark of the Roberts court since long before Trump has been to put party before law. Mondays decision gave the sign that there’s at least five votes not to hold Trump to any law (or court order) he doesn’t like.
Regrettably, and to the "rule of law" eternal shame, Mr Abrego Garcià, in all probability won't make it back to the States, IMHO. If and when the tRump gang "requests" the repatriation of the man, Salvadoran authorities will make up some shit about "transferred to another prison", or "unable to locate him in 'the system'", whatever. His fate was decided after the first legal filing demanding his return, and DHS is running the Bush-era Gitmo playbook over again, this time with a decidedly less friendly SCOTUS handling the legal claims of the "disappeared".
There will be dozens if not hundreds of "Josef K's" generated in these Kafkaesque immigrant snatch-and-removal cases, all ending badly in the climate of lawlessness created by tRump 2.0.
I fear that this is what will happen 🥺😩 The stain of this "administration" will be like Wounded Knee, Trail of Tears, Japanese internment, lynchings, Jim Crow.💔💔💔 American exceptionalism 😰
David, a picture is emerging of an administration striving to neutralize all opposition and dissent from all institutions and powerful entities all over the country. The scope of their ambition is both breathtaking and terrifying.

I could go on but, again, Friday.
Have a good weekend
everyone.

Sadly, I agree with this. No way they will let anyone back in once they have been disappeared.

I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't killed in prison.

Yay. Good for Susannah Meyers for doing her job.
Thank you for the links to Alan Rozenshtien and Steve Vladek
Yes I agree.
Oceania has ALWAYS been at peace with Eurasia and has ALWAYS been at war with Eastasia over the Disputed Territories.
