David, you must feel like somebody at the end of a fast-moving conveyor belt of pies. Your job is to package each pie of outrageous Trumpian actions and send it it to the public. But the pies are whizzing down the line in such numbers that it is impossible to report them all. Very frustrating it is.
I am dusting off my Senator Susan Collins "He's learned his lesson" award for the twin chicken shits of Collins herself and Senator Lisa Murkowski. Rather than wringing their hands, they could show a tiny bit of backbone. Let them cross the metaphorical aisle, declare their independence from the party of MAGA, and become independents. There are examples of this in relatively recent history, from both traditional parties.
I've read the order five times. Amazing. Powerful. It should be read to 5th and 6th graders in elementary school Civics classes too. Wish I could have been a fly on the wall when Bondi and Blanche were reading it.
But, according to Seb Gorka, one of the least distinguished members of a horribly flawed Executive, Judge Wilkinson and his two colleagues should be charged with — wait for it — "aiding and abetting a foreign terrorist", as calling — nay, insisting — upon "due process" is akin to "material support something something".
*Pace* Judge Wilkinson's passionate plea to members of tRump's cabinet, I'm afraid that Gorka's intemperate outburst is much more in tune with that crowd's current mindset than what the good judge would hope to be a more chastened response.
So Gorka has already reacted to Wilkinson's ruling and saying the judge is aiding and abetting a terrorist!? That's quick. Hope he walks back that statement but I doubt he will. I thought your own remarks most temperate: "horribly flawed" was a very diplomatic way of putting it
Re our Founding Fathers and their knowledge of tyranny, see “Fears of a Setting Sun” in which Washington, for one, expect the nation would, outside his cabinet, have OneThink and no dissent just like under every tyranny ever.
I can easily make the case that democracy didn’t mean much to them what with that OneThink and, of course, having a state that wouldn’t interfere in private affairs like banning the commerce in human chattel or not supporting getting private land via genocide.
Me> Ah, I see. You need to prevent the postmarked date from counting because Palanatir tracking has shown the non-citizens all line up just before closing to cast illegal ballots because they KNOW having to wait frustrates trump. Why doesn't ICE just deport everyone who is near a PO on election day?
MAGAT> No, you don't understand. It is the postmarking mills found in every sanctuary city that fakes dates so non-citizens have extra days to vote.
Me> Ah, definitely opening a postmarked ballot a day after facilitates fraud bigtime. That's why if you mail your tax payment on April 15 the IRS can hit you with a big fine for late payment.

Thank you David! One of your very best TPMs.

Agree.
David, thank you ; a well assembled collection of important data. Life as the ultimate mystery….
Never complete without the daily Ed Martin idiocy, whose actions write a Morning Memo report all by themselves.

I’ll leave it that for now…
