I have to thank you again for the music you introduce at the end of your posts. So many I had no knowledge of and love! Just icing on the info reliably brought by TPM.

The GESTAPO are more out of control than they have ever been...and this is just their warmup to the mid-term election. Mr. Araujo seems to have been an innocent bystander, and just by unlucky coincidence none of the murderers were wearing body cams. God help our country.

Not saying anything new here, but those behind ICE/CPB violence, including the murders, think that the American public won't care because the victims are undocumented. That is only possible without a media willing to openly question and challenge the false statements by the officers.

That is because Corporate Media is owned, body and soul, by "friends" aka oligarchs of the Mango Mussolini who want to remake the US into another gilded Age. The years leading up to the Great Depression. Some economists are warning the current AI bubble looks to be headed towards a crash. Which is not a good thing

Re: ICE murder in Houston...funny about ALL those ICE agents involved in the shooting of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo were not equipped with body cameras. Given the evidence provided by Agent Jonathan Ross's own body camera in the Reneé Good killing in Minneapolis earlier this year, which contradicted the agent's account of the shooting, one wonders if indeed the DHS rules about wearing recording devices was deliberately ignored, or if cameras WERE worn, but quickly removed after the incident.

Anything coming from ICE/CBP/DHS has to be treated with skepticism barring video evidence.

Started the Beutler piece and *not* recommended.

He seems to think the collapsed starting around 2008.

Problem with that is, as I keep ranting, the core of the problem is the national party deciding not to be a true opposition party but to be one enough to the right to get contributions from Republican major donors.

That goal obviously restricts what the national Democrats can and would do, lip service and empty promises notwithstanding.

That shift started in the late 1980s and locked with Clinton’s election.

Everything wrong with the party now flows from that.

The party brand — still — is one expected to do things to make people better off, to make lives better.

The best they’ve since is the ACA, born compromised, compromised and whittled away since. And other than the ACA pretty much nothing.

What we get is the party attacking the wholly insane Iran war from the right.

We have a putative opposition party cool with a POTUS who sets policies based on bribes, the opportunity for self-enriching, and a number of pathologies.

(Note: Of course there were exceptions but that’s the rule and the exceptions are too minor or fleeting to count.)

As for defenders of the party: If it was even a fraction as good as you claim, explain the nation’s collapse the past five decades.

Anything you want done to improve the nation doesn’t and can’t happen til the Clinton/DLC corruption is eliminated from the national Democrats. Any discussions that don’t include that reality is just empty talk.
