Miller: "It's not a coincidence that when you look at these violent Antifa demonstrations not one of the people that is demonstrating looks like a normal person. Not one looks normal. They're all deformed in some way in their appearance, in their dress, in their mannerism."
And thus spake an individual who looks, and speaks, in entirely normal fashion.
I saw this ad during the World Cup and had the same disgusted reaction. Glad to hear that the movie audience booed loudly. When are they going to get it through their heads that the public does not want this technology in our lives.
There remains no standalone statute defining or governing "domestic terrorism", and its only appearance in ANY federal law is within the notorious USA PATRIOT Act, but even there, no criminal penalties are specified. The term has been appropriated by the trump regime as a catchall for ANY activity that the regime considers as "opposition" to its ends and means...and here "domestic terrorism" is often subsumed by something called "antifa", an alleged nationwide far-left assemblage of closely- tied groups reminiscent of the '50s-era "communist cells", and who "stand ready" to "tear down" American institutions, i.e., anti-trump activities.
Rubio now is trying to conflate the latter with an "international movement" bent on "destroying democracy", lumping together any and all left-wing opposition groups or parties, presumably in Europe and the Americas, as a "monolithic force" that must be countered by the machinery of the State, and in a coördinated manner, yadda-yadda.
No doubt right-wing parties and governments will leap to the challenge, after these clarion calls from trump, Rubio, and Stephen Miller to smite this evil embedded within nations, before it is too late!
Brouillette apparently has a second ex-wife who barely wants to even be noted.
How can I put this…? I sort of feel any wannabe cop who’s not acceptable for a major metropolitan police force has to let’s say lacking fitness-wise.
As we’ve seen from other ICE murders, the quality of hires is highly questionable to say the least.
Anyway.
More important: Do we US-born libs have to worry about deportation or will we be headed to concentration camps? Obviously, joking but not quite joking.
And may I be the first to note that Stephen Miller doesn’t look 100% “normal”. (His word.)
This is happening all across the GOP, painting Democrats/Liberals as the new Communist threat. Speaker Mike Johnson was going on about this the other day. It's pretty clear they are running scared - and should be - but the question is how far they will go to hang onto power.
Mike Johnson can see the Bolsheviks under the bed. Via Charlie Pierce at Esquire:
Speaker Moses apparently is working on a Joe McCarthy tribute act for the next Federalist Society Be-In. Alas, it really needs a lot of work. First of all, he needs to gain about 180 pounds. Second, he needs to drink a helluva lot more whiskey. But give him credit. He has the patter down, well, pat:
"This philosophy has led to the murder of tens of millions of innocent people in the 20th century alone. It is a nightmare and is a trail to certain death. And that’s why we’re speaking in such stark terms, because we need America to wake up. Thirty-five years ago, Republicans and Democrats in Congress, the Reagan years, they were fighting communism on a distant shore. Now it’s here.
We’re fighting right now in Congress over whether we’re going to maintain our status as a constitutional republic or we’re going to trade that in, dismantle the foundations and go down this dark road of death to communism. That is the question on the ballot this fall. Now, the DSA published their platform—I hope you’re all covering it. I hope you’re writing in depth about their platform. I read it out loud at event a few weeks ago, and they’ve made an ad mocking me reading their platform. Now, they didn’t put the clips with the worst parts of it. Well, of course they want to pack the Supreme Court, and they want a unicameral legislature. They want the House to run everything; abolish the Senate, because they believe the House would be run by Marxists communists. They want to remove the president. What they also want to do is abolish all borders. They don’t want any borders. They want mass amnesty granted to anyone who can come onto our shores without exception, even for terrorists and hardened, dangerous criminals. They don’t want prisons. It’s in their platform. They want to remove the carceral state. They said no prisons. They don’t want to fund the police. This is not a game. Everybody needs to understand. These crazy little mini Mamdanis who are popping up all around the country; they are a danger to you and your family. This is not a game. If they promise you free stuff, there is far more beneath those promises that even some of these people do not understand themselves."
…All this performative agita is prompted by the fact that people who call themselves “democratic socialists” won some democratic primaries and one became the mayor of New York. All of which is what happens when people vote. That makes for lousy Bolshevism. The actual positions on which these crafty backbenchers ran on are extremely popular ones—a better health-care system, affordable housing, decent mass transit, a pullback from oligarchical excess. Nobody’s seizing any means of production, but some folks did manage to buy their groceries in New York without applying for federal matching funds.
And there’s no question that the entire GOP is behind this preposterous HUAC cosplay. I’ve heard “godless communism” in public more often in the past two weeks than I’ve heard it since we were all saying rosaries for the captive nations back in elementary school. (Also on Xwitter, some genuine paeans to Pius XII, of unhappy memory.) The president has put it at the very top of his blithering. Identified with an electron microscope, Secretary of State Marco Rubio is feeling that old Bay o’ Pigs feeling again—as, apparently, is the Pentagon.

Came here to say the same thing. Dude needs to invest in a mirror.
Oh no, the evil libs held up a mean protest sign! Off with their heads!
