Seriously, Veterans on Patrol? Are US citizens really gullible enough to believe in "weather modification"? Do they believe MTG when she makes weird claims, like her claim that Jewish Space Lasers are real?
It seems like TACOs ignorance is communicable. Something I never thought I would say, but am now seeing examples of Americans extreme gullibility, ignorance or stupidity on an almost daily basis
Vengeful, vindictive, venemous, voracious, villainous, vituperative, vainglorious, vulpine, vulgar, vapid... I could go on describing Trump, but this only the "v" part of the alphabet.
I applied for a job long ago at the OKC TV station that got vandalized by those militia whack jobs. Small world.
Re: Brennan...he has a sordid history of "misstatements", the worst concerned a contrived denial about the CIA spying on the Senate Intelligence Committee in 2014 during its deliberation on Bush-era "torture" reports, and the ultimate document published. The guy is sleazy, and Comey and his "but her emails" is no better, so, yeah, Bondi's DOJ are going after these two, but for the wrong reasons.
There are more sympathetic figures being targeted by the DOJ for blatantly political harassment, but I wouldn't waste too many tears on Brennan and Comey.
Re Comey: I’m so old that I can remember 2016 when he was, practically speaking, Rat Fucker #1 throwing the election to Trump. He’s earned anything bad coming his way. Might encourage all the people with power so that some actually start resisting Trump. Certainly, no reason he shouldn’t suffer at least as much as the rest of us and, ideally, much, much more.
As for Whitehouse, that thread, if true and not some performative lies, shows a level of ignorance and naïveté that, in a saner, more timeline, would make him unfit for office. Who knows, though. Given another decade or two, he might realize that the Roberts junta was a problem needing addressing from Day 1, that is before Trump was first elected.
Full disclosure: Seeing the national Democratic Party attacking Mamdani, which is to shitting on their own voters in that Bill Clinton way, I’m wondering whether the party’s of any value. Being a minority that can’t deal with Trump and his party or having a majority and not doing so, the difference too minor to stress over. Besides, sticking with the platform of empty promises may keep the question moot.
I don't think the civil rights laws include "failure to protect" a minority. They prohibit discriminating against a minority. So if Harvard ALSO failed to protect Pro-Palestinian students from harassment, and failed to protect black students from harassment, and failed to protect, say, women from harassment, aren't they being equal opportunity failures? I trust the folks in charge of accreditation have some common sense.
Whether or not Brennan "lied" to Congress depends on how the question was asked, doesn't it. If the question was "did you think in 2017 the Dossier should have been included, then saying "no" might be lying. If it was "do you think the Dossier should have been included" it really can't be said to be a lie. But the GOP is not very big on the idea that people can change their minds. Attacks on Fauci come to mind.
I am grateful for Morning Memo but I cannot bring myself to “heart” the dreadful truths today.
Thank you for your work, truly.
If it weren't for James Comey, Trump would never have set foot in the White House. Is he grateful? Of course not.
Trump eventually turns on everyone. How odd that so many people have failed to notice that.
I think Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel said it best: "A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest".
