We’re being played. Trying to look like statesmen. Then own the libs. Hope I’m wrong.

And all the other republicans are voting for him. Disgusting!

AP is reporting that trump may well pull the Blanche AG nomination "until Cornyn and Tillis are out of office", keeping Blanche as "acting AG" until such time as a more "receptive" Senate is sworn in.

Given current polling, one can presume that "acting" will be doing heroic work until Jan., 2029.

You could just replace a few words. Are all federally elected politicians playing us for fools? Um, yes, everyday. For decades.

I 2nd your suspicions! The Convicted Felon in Chief has a cult and a hold -- on both houses, on our nation -- there are no statesmen in either houses.

Seems like Trump doesn’t want to concede anything at all to these two, and that makes sense, given his psychology. One side has to be humiliated and there’s no doubt who will win this stand-off. An important object lesson for any other senators who might get uppity ideas!

No not approving Blanche’s appointment leaves Trump with the deal (arguably) in place including a pass on past fraud and a pass on future fraud.

So what does the vote even matter? Actual AG or acting AG; no difference in the long run.

Meanwhile, a fantasy to enjoy: The next D POTUS will make up for Biden and Garland’s and have his DOJ prosecute Trump for all the fraud. Trump will then do a Comey but in this case entertain the litigation audience by claiming as a defense that the tax fraud was part of his presidential duties.

Well, defaming a rape victim as an "official act" whilst claiming presidential immunity to avoid a $83mil payout falls into the same category: cheating and criming, then walk away intact.

To be clear, I was only referring to tax fraud. Obviously, pre-office raping has already been held not to be protected as a presidential act.

Well said. Cornyn is a very strange fellow. He has stature fear whether inside or outside the government.
