It’s the catch of the day, for sure. Smith gets Trump, whose X’ing compulsion performs a twofold function. It indelibly captures Trump character and state of mind, no witnesses required. Plus it frees even on-the-fence witness-colleagues to cooperate, as they see a universe between Trump’s vitriolic stream of violent threats and what they know the voting public will not tolerate. (Ok, DeSantis in his recent Nazi phase may be the exception, but just take a look at his poll numbers.)
Excellent reporting on what the MSM missed. (Smith’s filings, the background of the gun store) Thank you! Also, on how this legal waltz works.. I’m surprised Judge Chutkan selected a date so far out, too. He has been given WAY too much leniency.
Absolutely frightening how that howling MAGA audience last Friday received tRump's lunatic remarks...the fever remains burning-hot, and seemingly immune to quenching. Madly cheering the shoot-to-kill shoplifters line, big joking over the near-fatal beating of Paul Pelosi...Jaysus, this is real blood-sport we are witnessing here.
Could the October 16 date be because of the subpoena of trump in the NY civil case? Does a defendant have a right to be at such a hearing (not just his lawyers) such that ignoring the conflict would be error?
As to MSM: One thing we can do is write to them about what they fail to report. This is particularly true in view of the coverage of Biden's age and the increasing evidence of dementia on trump's posts.
This is the letter I wrote to both the NYT and WaPo about the omissions in their coverage. It takes about 5 minutes to write such a letter.
"Dear Editor
You have had many stories analyzing Biden’s “age problem.” One age problem is dementia. Why haven’t we seen headlines that say “Aging Republican presidential candidate claims shoplifters should be shot” or “Aging Republican presidential candidate accuses the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of staff Treason” or “Aging Republican Presidential Candidate promises Californians that he will water their forests to prevent forest fires”—this last in a state worrying about enough drinking water for its citizens.
The story can go on to discuss how this kind of thing relates to the ability to function as a president—which is just as important as whether Biden wears tennis shoes to lessen stumbling."
David, thanks for writing about Smith’s filing.
Apparently, our exceptional press didn’t find it newsworthy but you did.

Thank you, David for covering what MSM fell down a dark hole on; Jack Smith/gun store.
For everyone gnashing on Chutkan, consider her court
calendar and what else may
be on it. 🙄

So far Judge Chutkan has done nothing but make empty threats. We'll see, but giving tangeranus two+ more weeks to spout off is not a good sign.

Ditto on replacing MSM news sources!
