Back to LA, hmm...so, I wonder if the Scotus decision on illegal mobilization of NG units under 10 USC § 12406 is also applicable to those Red states — e.g., LA and TN — who have "welcomed" such deployment...seems that all it would take would be a lawsuit within those states to challenge the mobilization under the above statute using the IL argument, and they be gone.

P.S. Many thanks to your standup efforts over the year on making MM so damned informative and topical...Happy Holidays, and look for more of the same in the new year!

Quote of the Day!

Perfect David and

sounds currently

familiar. Thanks so much

for all your reports on

what Mother Earth and

nature are up to these

days. One of the water

blasting attractions at

Yellowstone burped mud

instead of water.

Merry Christmas to you

and your family David.

Enjoy the holidays and

warmer unseasonable

weather down here in

the south.

“…Trump is blocked from deploying federalized national guards to enforce the law unless regular armed forces are insufficient for the task…”

That’s *good* news?

Put like that, a) you know Trump will call out the troops and b) all that stuff about not deploying the troops domestically just got trashed.

Anyway.

Happy holidays all. Appropriate thoughts and prayers for the new year.

Regarding the SCOTUS case, I’m worried Kavanaugh is right, not on the merits obviously, but that the ruling “could cause the President to use the U. S. military more than the National Guard to protect federal personnel and property in the United States.” Or if not cause it directly, make Trump feel like he now has permission to do it. A scary thought.
