Truly a despicable collection of grifters, crooks, and generally unqualified people. No wonder the world is worried about Superpower Suicide, as Prof. Tim Snyder put it.

Whoa, lotta ground covered here today…

Meanwhile, the lead piece: To the degree there’s honest reporting of Donny’s shakedown — his extortion — of the IRS, the focus is on, well, the grift.

David here, though, makes it clear that there’s a serious legal issue eg that a party can’t be on both sides of that “v”. You’re plaintiff or defendant, can’t be both.

But that said, I’d love to see it go to trial in order to see a case for damages because obviously Trump was not harmed by the release of the records, specially records that theretofore — before it was on the norms he broke — he would have released them himself.

No doubt some appellate court will overrule the judge and it’ll be back in her lap. So I’m hoping that given the apparent conflict of interest between the parties eg a good faith settlement is impossible the case has to go to trial.

I wish so much Democrats would fight tooth and nail every day. A single Democrat could deny unanimous consent to proceed every morning. Any one Democrat could put a hold on the Warsh nomination too. Sure the gop could change the rules but why not force their hand. They are business as usualing us right into the cemetery. It's infuriating.

Remind me David, or someone, but didn't Trump file against the NYTimes for releasing his tax info? I believe he lost that? I don't remember him "suffering" any harm from what most of already knew; he's a cheater.

SPLC case is not going to fly for DoJ. Whoever thought about doing this was just a sock puppet.

One has to ask what Melania, JDVance, Hegseth and others in this crime regime were all doing at the Hilton,

for the first time ever appearance of 'grifter in

chief'?

Can you imagine if that case went to trial? The whole thing would be like one of those scenes from the Lord of the Rings where Sméagol is arguing with himself.

Re: trump's IRS suit...if the judge's view that ultimately there's "no case to answer", that seems to preclude yet another "settlement" outcome, in the way that so many of trump's lawsuits finally end. Like, "I wanted $10 billion, but we'll settle for $1 billion of taxpayers' money." Surely this eventuality can't be played out...or, can it?

On another note, couldn't resist a healthy chuckle whilst watching the video of trump tripping over his own cankles as he was getting the bum's rush off the Hilton ballroom stage. "The SS told me we should crawl out...". LOL!
