This administration is such jolly fun! I'm afraid that a lot of us are getting numbed and bummed by all the bad news- becoming passive spectators of this unfolding calamity. DON'T! Make your voices heard! We still have an overwhelming preponderance of power, but we have to use it.
Contribute to a tRump PAC, get a pardon, easy-peasy. Do a crime, then contribute to a tRump PAC, and also get a pardon/commutation. Life in a lawless country.
While we wait for the Roberts court to yet again put party first and undo many of the lower court decisions let’s say hampering or frustrating our beloved Fuhrer, where we’re headed til then:
I should that that the guys at that site aren’t radical lefties or even close to it. Rather, the linked piece is what our establishment media won’t dare discuss at the best of times.
85 yo here, and my wife and I are veterans of the mass mobilizations through late-'60s and early 70s, and appreciated the notion of "strength in numbers" as a popular vehicle for protesting injustices AND achieving results.
Not sure how well spontaneous and highly fragmented demos can play out — e.g., the Tesla protests — on a national scale, nor will 5April bring out sizable crowds...O tempores! O mores! and all that.
Other storm trooper stuff, I expect minimal violence from MAGAts and of course none by the libs because we don’t engage to any meaningful way and we don’t even fight to maintain the status quo.
I feel like the dumbest of fucks for any support (other than votes) I gave to the Democrats and for having any faith in them as an opposition party (as opposed to a still needed alternative party).
Will the Ds have enough spine to physically fight if it becomes necessary, or will they just talk. I think that at some point we will have to either fight or just give up and accept the new United States of trump. I would like to know just where all of these ICE agents have been hiding as they never acted like they are the new Gestapo during the Biden years
The Party of Clinton is in it for the money pretty much as much as the Republicans. The way Harris wrapped up the campaign says all: The Democrats are a party Republicans can be comfortable with.
The DCCC and DSCC are running the 2022 and 2024 playbooks again.
The party’s still not contesting every seat.
I can go on. And on.
OTOH, there’s still no alternative but to vote D so 🤷🏼♂️. It’s triage, nothing better than that. But it obviously beats the alternative.
How in the hell could the 3 judge appeals court panel justify the illegal firing of members of the panels put in place to protect the rights of Civil Service and Veteran workers is totally beyond me. Now the question is, WWTCRCD? What Will the Corrupt Roberts Court Do?
Such good news as there is that at risk of being caught having insufficient cynicism towards the Roberts court, I’m not sure that there are five votes to hold that the checks and balances thing is dead. There was that EPA decision a couple of years ago that held that Congress dictates how the money it distributes is used and that POTUS’ hands are somewhat tied when it comes to going too far. Roberts has been consistently enough sensitive to appearances so that’s four votes for limits on Trump. Not sure about Barrett.
That speculation notwithstanding, the problem noted in the Balinization piece of course extends to any adverse-to-Trump SCOTUS decision. It’s not like mobsters respect some courts and not others.
Democracy relies on good faith. Without it, there’s nothing. And we’ve had pretty much none since at least 1995.

We outnumber them by tens of millions.
Also, time for unions to step up and flex.
Make your voices heard on April 5! #handsoff
I'll be out there.

It’s ok to give voters in Wisconsin a million dollars but it’s not ok to give a bottle of water to voters in Georgia. WTF

I am 75 and hope to god I am wrong but is the current political schism getting closer to physical conflict?
