Your beautifully written "The Work of Our Lifetimes" resonates with me. During the corrupt Nixon era, as a teen, I was aware, but not cognizant of the political and historical ramifications. But NOW our country is enduring a decadent era of complete, utter corruption, the destruction of voting rights, the frontal attack on the justice - the rule of law. The Kennedy Center court decision - one small step. ***"This was the first step in what will be a decades-long effort to strip Trump from American public life and repair the damage"*** I hope to be around for such a time!

You really nailed it this morning David with your opening remarks.

In state legislatures there are term limits.

I think that should apply to both house and senate. Some of these people have been there way too long.

Judges are getting their act together. Yes, it's about time, but I applaud each and every one that holds the line for the rule of law, the Constitution and democracy.

David, nice piece. We know that Trump is the reverse King Midas -- everything the Orange Blob touches turns to shit. But Trump makes Nixon look like a piker when one compares the harm done not just to the physical USA but to the standing of the USA in the world. If the county does survive, I am sad that, at age 78, I am unlikely (statistically) to still be alive when the country regains even a modicum of its former greatness -- especially on the world stage.

MM's title is urgently timely, and the content only improved upon that. As ex., the tarp covering the Kennedy Center n-a-m-e shows that he deliberately is not complying with the statute or J Cooper's order. May seem a picky point to some, but it is not.

Is the tarp still there?

I suspect it will be so long as there is an appeal of the removal order unfinished.

I hope that everyone who has supported this regime will be sure to be remembered as such. Trump could not do these things without other supporters.

Roy Cohn to Donald Trump- “Attack, attack, attack. Delay, delay, delay.” That is the lesson that has stymied a judicial system that was built to be utilized by men of honor and integrity- two concepts that Trump hasn’t even a nodding acquaintance with.

A "Truth and Reconciliation" Commission, or even a national mood of Reconstruction in post-trump America? Desirable but never will happen, because — as you noted, David — a succeeding Democratic Administration will be too "institutionally" bound and politically timid to do what must be done.

Basically, much of trumpism will endure well beyond its shelf life, when it simply needn't be the case.

A la the Congressional J6 Committee hearings, I'll take the Truth part. Reconciliation ]efforts] with IMO traitors and criminals will not serve the nation.

Re: the trumps v IRS "lawsuit" ongoing in Florida...I'm surprised that it wasn't filed at the Fort Pierce fed. courthouse, where the case would have been handled by trump's super-fav judge, Aileen Cannon. One can only speculate how well it would have gone for the "plaintiffs", and conversely how poorly for the "defense".

I have no faith in these judges. If so failed to show up in court I would be arrested not scolded.

NO to reconciliation. A major flaw after Ckvil War

trump and Hegseth need to watch more things like the Hawaii volcano to learn what REAL power is.

I wish I can be as hopeful as David is in the lead item…

Lucky for y’all I don’t have access to a working computer and the reasons for my lack of hope is too much to type on a phone.

Some other time; it’s inevitable…

But the tl;dr is that the national Democrats have no interest in undoing approximately anything Trump has done. Gotta clean up the national party first, which doesn’t have to wait til Trump’s out of power — power, not office.
