I hope Dick finds himself seated at Hitler's Stammtisch (favorites table) along with many other infamous luminaries (Stalin, Pol Pot, Robert McNamara, Henry Kissinger to name a few)
Re Cheney: Patriot Act, drafted impossibly quickly after 9/11 which is to say ready to go at the proper opportunity. Think about it.
As for the rule of law imploding into the rule of fiat or infantile impulse: can’t say one couldn’t have seen it coming for years now were one to care to look. Also been the Roberts junta’s project since Day 1.

so if you want to protest outside someone's house, it is a crime to tell other people where you will be so they can join you? These were leaflets, not broadcast threats on X.
Looks like the Grim Reaper took the wrong Dick today. But it's good to know he's back home with Satan, burning in hell, if you believe in such nonsense. Cheney was a uniquely EVIL force and EVIL person in the American polity. He was a cancer that metastasized into Shitler and what the ЯepuыiKKKan Paяty has become, the American Fascist Party. There is a clear line from Goldwater through Reagan to Cheney to Shitler. He is assuredly in the top 5 most malevolent actors in America in the past century (Shitler, Reagan, Cheney, McConnell, Goldwater, Nixon...).
Normally I love listening to The Bulwark takes on American politics, despite being diametrically opposed to nearly everything anyone there believed pre-2015. But I don't have the stomach to listen to collaborationist hagiography of an evil man. I lived through his destructive times, I don't need to listen to someone who worked with him to visit evil upon the country and the world try to rehabilitate him. And I'm sorry, the whole "don't speak ill of the dead" blather just allows the disingenuous lionization of evil. But if you must, I guess Bette Davis’ quote when Joan Crawford died will suffice: “I’ve been told that it is wrong to speak ill of the dead. Dick Cheney is dead and that is good.” Substituting Cheney for Crawford.
All posting is great, as usual. But, in a few words, you captured Cheney very well.
Excellent writing about Cheney. I always felt he was the more corrupt of that administration.
Thomas Zimmer’s words are a 🔪 to my heart 😳🤬 So on 🎯 today. Thank you for sharing 👍

Dick Cheney was the unmitigated evil whose banner and legacy Stephen Miller has embraced wholeheartedly...no mourning the passing of Mr "Dark Side".

All appropriate thoughts and prayers for the nation…
Bush was a dolt. Unlike the Republicans of today, he had a heart, although a little one. Cheney made policy. He only had to convince one person.

Dick Cheney is dead. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy
I feel about Cheney like I did about Kissinger
