This is, of course, a recipe for continued depravity during which the USA cannot be sustained as a functioning state much less a functioning democracy or republic or any combination thereof that relies in whole or in part on the consent of the governed.
There is only one political party and it’s out of power. The legacy media is aground by way of corporate monopoly and its own irrelevant devotion to both siderism and while some leaders have stepped forward ably, none has assumed the mantle of a national leader of the opposition. Also none has done much other than talk about an election six months away. And this includes the so called independent media where few voices are like yours in detailing every thread of dysfunction.
The Alabama march was great, the no kings have been too. But, until leaders and journalists, including independents full throatedly step up, make it clear that Trump must go, now, the slide into the abyss of either dictatorship or anarchy will continue.

One wonders if the "settlement" terms in fact permit trump to make a claim on the $5 million won in a civil suit heard in a Manhattan federal court in 2023 by plaintiff E Jean Carroll, as an example of "weaponization of the courts" against trump? Maybe even go after "compensation" after losing the $80 million civil defamation suit won by Carroll in the NY state trial?
Since trump and his stooges are the sole judges of what constitutes a "legitimate" claim, it would appear that my questions above can be answered in the affirmative...MAGA!
Well... we still have Donny trading on the Iran war started for his greed and ego and no justifiable US policy or significant risk to the nation justifying warring.
So we have a war of attrition for a bit while Donny personally profits (he's one of the traders, if not the only one, referenced in the grossly insufficient reportage).
We still Cuba and Greenland to be invaded. For the record: I won't believe that won't happen when Donny's out of power.

The real problem is no one says no to Trump and makes it stick. The only ones that come close is a few deportation cases where the court was obeyed instead of ignored and frustrated.
So it's not just Trump, it's literally our entire leadership class: the business leaders, the chickenshit national Democratic Party, Biden on down, and the establishment media who tend to do GOP PR and covering for Demented Donny instead engaging in honest reporting.
As long as he's alive (I don't mean this in the way it can be taken), things will get worse til they get better.
That kvetched, such good news as there is that the way things can get better is to clean up/out the national Democratic Party and put in charge people who know what needs to be done and cares to do the work. The DNC has so filled Congress with DINOs that a D congressional majority is insignificantly better that an R majority. To be clear, it's of course better, but barely so.
And without that cleanup and purge, again, nearly none of the necessary good will be done. The country will remain in whatever shitty shape Trump leaves it. Exactly that simple.
