"Hey, Maria...well, thanks for returning the Nobel Peace Prize Medal to its rightful recipient, as I ended eight wars, stopped killer-drug trafficking, and no one deserved the Peace Prize more than me! Oh, and forget about getting appointed as Venezuela's new president...we already have a very nice lady in place, who likes me, but - tell you what - I'll tell Li'l Marco to put your US visa application on a fast track, and I'll mention to Kristi that ICE should give Maria a couple of months to settle in while her visa stuff is being processed.
Thank you very much for your attention to this matter! Pres. DJT"
Do you think we will ever see the actual autopsy report on Renee? As in, which of these shots were the fatal ones? It will be really interesting if the one likeliest to be fatal came through the side window, The reports say she bled out. Even the arm one could have been fatal, had it hit an artery
That question keeps coming up because the absence itself feels telling.
Autopsy reports in cases like this often get delayed, partially released, or framed in ways that avoid drawing a straight line between actions and responsibility.
Focusing on which wound was “most fatal” can also become a way to fragment what was a single, continuous act of violence — multiple shots fired, resulting in catastrophic blood loss.
Whether it was one wound or several, the outcome was the same, and the delay or opacity around full disclosure only deepens mistrust.
Transparency shouldn’t be optional when a federal agent kills a civilian, and the fact that people are left speculating is part of the larger failure here.
probably true overall. But here if what she bled out from was mostly a shot from the side, it would utterly squelch the “but she was running over me” excuse.
In re Trump's reaction to the Nobel medal given to him by Machado, I am reminded of the scene from "Lord of the Rings" in which the Golem first finds his "precious", the bright shiny ring. The Nobel medal is Trump's "precious."
What’s striking here is how quickly the conversation shifts from what happened to procedural distance, as if cataloging wounds and timelines can substitute for accountability.
Renee Good didn’t die in abstraction — she was shot multiple times by a federal agent, in a moment that has been documented, analyzed, and still aggressively contained.
The accumulation of reports, videos, and statements hasn’t produced clarity so much as exhaustion, which is often how these cases are allowed to fade.
The danger isn’t that the facts are unknown; it’s that they’re known and still treated as negotiable.
Remembering Renee now means resisting that quiet normalization and insisting that documentation without consequence is not justice.
Excellent work! TPM offers an array of newsworthy pieces (some often overlooked in mainstream) that are enlightening. Thank you for all your efforts

I don't think the prize should ever have been awarded to Machado in the first place.
that’s for sure
The medal is not the Nobel Peace Prize. She doesn't have the authority to award the Prize. (And he certainly doesn't deserve it!)
Sometimes a necklace is just a necklace.
The only true thing JD Vance has ever said: Donald J Trump is an American Hitler
until these judges start putting people in jail they are just bloviating to hear themselves bloviate.

Thank you David for this
roundup of the week.
I believe the Nobel
Committee has stated
the none of the award
can be transferred to
another and if it is, it's
nullified. So Dumpty
Trumpty, it's worthless.
And please explain that
500 million you stuffed
in Qatar.
Sad to say, my daughter
and I had a heated chat
about the death of
Renee Nicole Good. She's adamant a
neighbors security
camera (CBS) shows
what really happened
and it was Ms Good and
wife's fault; I can't locate
it, so am sticking with all the other videos I've seen. My daughter is a
law and order fan, not a
Trumper.
What does it show?
I don't know personally,
as I can't find it. She said
they were both shouting
at the ICE agent and
that video showed she
turned car to try and hit
him before she turned
car away. That's the only
video she'd seen. I think
it's bogus.
