Thank you, David for a really good TPM today. Deserves a restack.😁👍

Help me out here, if the vote was 212-214 how is Scalise the tie vote?

One of the 4 republican votes was a last minute switch for procedural reasons and will go back to aye if there’s another vote when scalise is back

I think not. The GOP caucus just lost a big chunk of credibility. They can’t afford to have another fake impeachment of Mayorkas specially after the just sabotaged efforts to do anything about the alleged underlying problem.

Of course, time will tell…

Engoron, IMO, is doing a little knife twisting of his own. Little of Weisselberg’s testimony is all that germane — the issue of fraud has even established, all that’s pretty much still at issue is what it’ll cost the defendants.

That said, theoretically the weight given to Weisselberg’s testimony is for Engoron to decide; he’s been free to discount it, at least if he has any basis to. The perjury deal here gives him cover for discounting all he wants to disregard.

On the level of the kind of cases fPOTUS has experience with, Engoron’s decision would be pretty easy — it’s pretty much a matter of doing the math. But to make it as appellate-proof as possible, that takes work.

And that said, as a dotard who believes the best way is letting 45 twist slowly, slowly in the wind, so final resolution of the fraud case closer to the election than further in advance is a good thing. (I have no doubt the un-American commies on NY’s appellate courts will move the appeal fast enough.)

As for the DCCA decision Tuesday, I refer you to this:

Looks like fPOTUS got shlonged and the shlonging won’t be stopping anytime soon.

Hyacinth Bucket ("that's pronounced 'Bouquet'") is laughing at the moron stupidity of Potato Face, er, Marjorie Traitor Goon, the dumbest Republican bimbo ever. She really should go back to what her husband detailed as her "best work" in their divorce - the "serial adultery" of giving all the gymrats down there in Al-fah-ray-tuh blowjobs.

It would be great if you and other sensible, political analysts could stop posting Twitter links, and stop using Twitter altogether. You’re supporting an extremist organization. You keep talking about Democrats falling for GOP traps and here you are falling into the trap. Stop!

I quit twitter a year ago but I think a lot of people really count on a town square that twitter used to be. I ditched Facebook and Instagram too and am very happy with Mastodon, but I'm a bit nerdy, and I know a lot of people don't or won't like it.

With Bluesky opening up we might see a total xitter implosion, so keep your fingers crossed. (I personally won't be joining Bluesky).

I understand. Most of these journalists are now hooked on the Twitter habit. I quit it (and tried and quit Mastodon) and found you can get all the information elsewhere, and the information elsewhere is more complete. Not quick hits of nonsense. Not 30 sec clips of Marjorie Taylor Greene’s “thoughts”. Journalism survived before Twitter. With TPM and the like I don’t need Twitter.
