Fun fact: The CBO isn’t the objective oracle the establishment media describe. So what they’re saying here: Safe to say the reality would be worse.
As for the sadism and lust for violence described at the top of the post: Being surprised at all is a sign of ignorance about those people. They’ve been nursing decades of bullshit-based grievance and have accepted as a solution to their problems, some of which are legitimate, with freeing themselves to be haters taking pleasure and joy in having a hateful thug for a POTUS. Remember; every accusation is an admission so when they call people vermin…
And as David said, at your demo Saturday, be cool FFS.
Legit thoughts and prayers for as peaceful weekend as possible. We’re likely at a slo-mo drawn out Reichstag fire moment… As David more or less noted, the fuckers want us to be violent.
Senator Padilla tried. You see what happened to him. Why didn't Noem know what the senators of the the state where she is speaking look like? There are only two.
Of course they want us to turn violent. That's their excuse to become even more violent in return. Don't fall for their tricks. The day may come when they won't need excuses. They will just be violent from the get go. If that day comes, then things will really get ugly in our country. Let's hope that day isn't soon.
You mistakenly said LA Riots in 2 sections of your article. Oopsie. There have been ZERO riots in LA. They have all been peaceful protests and people standing up for loved ones being mistreated by ICE. The portrayals by right wing media of so called riots are lies, lies, lies. Please add an addendum to your article saying that you misstated that there were riots and rather there were protests. There is a lot of evidence of anti protestors and anti democracy people showing up at protests or nearby to insight problems and make the protestors look bad. Please research this and fix your article. You are bending the knee to the lies if you let this stand. Thank you.
I commented the same thing. TPM is echoing *their* narrative with no proof of "rioting" whatsoever. I'm also extremely disappointed and considering cancelling my subscription. This isn't just a small oversight.
I'm anxious to see how Noem and her personal armed force "liberates" L.A. from the "burdensome socialist", Mayor Bass, and her co-conspirator in Sacramento, Gov. Newsom. Will Kristi install herself as mayor pro tem until she can call a special election? And, who is assigned to "liberate" CA from the "burdensome" Gavin Newsom?
Why do I expect that most violence (if any) at the No Kings Day protests will be at the ones with a massive police/National Guard presence. Absent that, who exactly are protestors going to throw stone, etc AT? Their speakers? Their co-protestors?
In the BLM protests, most of the violence (at least here) MIGHT have been directed by a few protestors at shop and such who were perceived to be part of a racist structure of society. But there really isn't anything tRumpian to attack this time. In any event, almost all the violence was after dark, the time hooligans come out of the woodwork. Most No King's Day will be only during the day.
As I watched the beginnings of the LA protests, it seemed that fizz bangs were lobbed at the crowd BEFORE there was much if any "violence." In one memorable shot, a protestor was shown throwing something at the cops--it was clearly a tear gas cannister being lobbed BACK. It was smoking, and on the ground; the protestor picked it UP and threw it back. No sign that it was some sort of lit firework. The thing that struck me was how thin the crowd actually was anywhere near the Home Depot. Things did get more confrontational at the ICE detention center, but again--at the cops. Far as I can tell no one tried to set fire to the center.
The car alight in the intersection in Compton was clearly at night, and not near either the Home Depot nor any ICE facility. I don't know when the Waymos were set alight; the pictures as I recall showed nighttime.
Fingers crossed that I'm right; we'll know by tonight. But I'm guessing that the news will be filled with whatever violence does manage to happen, and won't show the peaceful parts
But of course, the 76 trombones and 76 zillion tanks in DC will be.....at night.
RIP Sly Stone too
AMEN!
AMEN!!!!

Appreciate the BBC video!
I wish someone would ask Kristi Noem to elaborate on how, exactly, Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass have imposed "burdensome leadership...on this country."
The obvious follow-up questions never get asked.

That music video made my day. Thanks!
So glad to be part of a community with you all. Walk safe, carry love in our hearts. We the people.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND -- ???

Whoa, whoa, whoa.
