First Substack letter I read each morning, "grimness" notwithstanding! I mean, for those of us on the opposite side of the MAGA divide, how can the news be anything other than grim?
No worries — I think the tone of Morning Memo has been just right for these times. The stakes of the election were dire, and being dour in the aftermath is totally warranted. We’re all figuring out together how to move ahead. There will be a place for snark, a place for outrage, a place for careful analysis. Times to keep our powder dry, and times to spring into action.
So thanks for all you do. I hope you have a restful Thanksgiving break.
Thank you, David, and all of the folks at TPM. I really appreciate you all and the hard work you do keeping us updated on the mess that is out political system right now. May your blessings be multiplied this year and throughout your life.
I am a relatively new subscriber and on this holiday of thanks, I must say that Morning Memo is the one source I read carefully each day. You do a great job, Journalist Kurtz, and your fans are grateful. I cannot resist adding that I am a refugee from the constant stirring of political conflict ny the NYT and Wapo. I read them too but refuse to wallow in stories about how Democrats lost the white working class or the backstabbing at Mar a Lago. Have a great Thanksgiving.
Thank you for sharing Sarah Wildman’s essay. As someone who has been dying in fits and starts but never stopping the progression since the day I was created, I appreciate this so so much. So much.
I can’t wait to see those two lovely ladies, who have been fighting for their freedom, on the cover of every news outlet driving around in Rudy’s Mercedes

Carry on, David, and have a joyful Thanksgiving!

Thank you and happy Thanksgiving from Belgium
Happy Thanksgiving all — David, Team TPM, and all of you!
Take a break and I’ll carry all of the pessimism for everyone 😉

Grim tone is truth-telling. Thank you. And peace to us all.

Thank you David and
everyone at TPM for the
upsides and downsides, but
especially David, for your
often insightful opening
essays to Morning Memo.
Happy Thanksgiving to you,
your family and everyone at

David, satire is hard when the subject matter is un-satireable.
Thank you! Thank you for all this news!
Thank you for all your work! It is appreciated.
I like your tone. "Dour" suits me just fine. I'm grateful for the work you do. It is depressing, but that's honestly what's ahead of us.
Just a suggestion: Use the Trump II Scary Clown Show instead of the Trump II Clown Show. Clown shows are innocuous. Trump's clown show is very scary.
Good one or Trump II Scary Kkklown Show
