Every day without fail, Morning Memo lays out how bleak and foreboding tRump 2.0 actions are for our civic society, our Constitution, the much-derided "rule of law", and above all of it, the loss of a functioning government — the greatest of insults foisted upon the American public in the name of "total transparency something something".
How and when we as a country will recover from such an unprecedented onslaught remains unanswerable at this perilous time in our history.
They can break our arms and legs, and run us over with shitty ugly (now worthless) cybertrucks, but as long as we are breathing, democracy is not dead.
When American democracy gets a new life (it will someday, absent a climate apocalypse), we will need to build back better. The opportunity to build back better is the silver lining.
"Although the Order extensively reflects the President’s personal grievances, conspiratorial beliefs, and election denialism, nowhere does it (nor could it) identify any legal authority he possesses to impose such sweeping changes upon how Americans vote,” Democrats alleged in the complaint filed by attorney Marc Elias, a longtime Trump nemesis"
A masterpiece of concision. Everyone should support the resolute and redoubtable, the most honorable Marc Elias.
Every morning there is a new outrage to cope with. This morning it was another kidnapping of a purported gang member, who was then shipped immediately to the prison in El Salvador. This man has been in this country LEGALLY for a number of years, is married to an American woman and has an American child. Not one shred of due process was even considered. He had a tattoo and brown skin, so I guess that was all that was needed. Now the spokespeople for the government are saying there's nothing they can do to get him and others back home because they are out of our jurisdiction. Bullshit! All we have to do is stop paying El Salvador to house them, and they'll all be at the airport in a flash. What kind of country are we turning into? The hate and intolerance has always been bubbling below the surface, and now it has permission from the President to be as nasty and cruel as possible, destroying people's lives in multiple ways. I am sick in my soul over what is happening.

This is going to be remembered the way Woodstock was remembered. And YOU have a chance to be there.
Democracy is NOT a spectator sport.

This is all so bleak I don't want to share it today...

Didn't take but 60+days
for Trump's regime to
make a mess of our
country on the world
stage, to say nothing
about here at the
homeland.
Glad to hear that the US is not also at war against El Salvador.
Not happy about the colluding .
