The NEW WaPo...dear god, featuring Mme Cosplay herself, the "ICE Lady", in a featured rôle as Op-Ed contributor...another reason for thankfully saving my money and canceling my WaPo sub months ago.

Will miss the Post's Bezos-Sánchez wedding coverage, however...LOL!

Re: Scotus *DVD* decision...“Shadow docket” strikes again…the usual three dissenting opinions, and six…well, six no-shows, just a majority order. And, how about Justice ACB…man, no “moderating” votes from her recently, it’s right down the authoritarian Executive yellow brick road!

Shadow docket DVD

decision. I've been

thinking of the women

and children who will be

deported to countries

that are brutal to

females and involved in

trafficking. I know these

6 reprehensible justices

have children and

grandchildren. I wonder

how they would like it if

this ever happened to

their families.

There's more than a

"whiff of fascism" in our

government these days.

Honestly, at this point I think Sotomayor, Jackson and Kagan should resign. They are essentially in an abusive relationship. I know, I know—but might as well give them the whole court. The thing has got to be destroyed and rebuilt in a very different form. Just sayin’.

If the 3 good justices left

SCOTUS at this time,

with a red president,

congress and senate,

they would rush 3 more

Federalist Society reds

in so fast, your head

would spin. Then we'd

be in more trouble than

now. Think about Lucy

Cannon in FL/Trump's

Stollen documents judge

on the high court. Ho in

the 5th corrupt 5th

circuit.😳

Lots to talk about here! I won't waste too much bandwidth but just say that 1. Wouldn't it be a great idea for the cost cutting crowd to look at DOGE itself as an excellent target for de-funding? What a bloated and useless enterprise that hasn't yielded a cent in real savings. 2. In light of the Supreme Court's daring ambition to become the worst Court in U.S. history, isn't it about time we increased the number of sitting justices to equal the number of appellate circuits? It's purely an administration of law issue. We're not a country of thirty million anymore. There are far more cases than the court has time to handle. Way too many meritorious cases don't get heard or are remanded back down to the lower courts. I think 11 or 13 Justices might handle the traffic, using three Justice panels NOT selected by the Chief Justice.

On one hand, there’s a huge need for SCOTUS to address due process and who exactly is entitled to how much and what kind of it.

On the other hand, the Roberts court being the panel to do so… Damned either way.

In Santa Ana, CA yesterday, Alejandro Barranco - with no criminal record, a business owner, and three sons in the Marines - was apprehended by ICE shoved to the ground, and repeatedly punched in the face. He is in a detention center. RThese goons, thanks to the corrupt Supreme Court, now have permission to brutalize those with brown skin. Disgusting!

These are sick people, the Catholic and Catholic-educated authoritarians who constitute the conservative majority. They aren’t even true to their religion, unless you think it was true to Catholicism for Bill Barr, to cite one example, to go on an execution spree before folding up his tent at the DOJ in Trump's first term.

These are just sick people who don’t understand that concentrated governmental executive authority is, apart from being illegal and unconstitutional, an inappropriate (meaning wrong) application of Catholic belief and teaching. It works against it. They should look at their great allies in evil-doing, evangelicals, and judge from that.

Because evangelicals are anti-Catholic bigots. Their hatred of expertise stems from anti-Catholic prejudice and their loathing of the priesthood and the ‘cult of the saints’ these being unnecessary intermediaries since you can mind-meld with Jesus independently as your 'personal savior’ as though he’s a guy in a bar.

The fixed-idea, straw-man attack extends to the insistence that Catholics think you can get into heaven on good works. Evangelicals then overcompensate by deciding good works are bad so they want to destroy everyone’s life and then maybe their cruelty will bring you to Jesus when in reality they simply love cruelty.

AND, since evangelicals associate wealth with holiness and God’s favor, the highest state is to be rich and cruel like Trump who clearly doesn’t believe in the efficacy of good works because he’s never done one in his life. These are the allies of those self-righteous Catholic and Catholic-trained justices, all despicable people.
