As a honky, I have no right to say this and of course can be wrong but: making any particular issue of Robinson outside of NC (where he matters) can be seen as an exercise in racist or at least suffer from racist overtones.
Is he in any way worse or more unfit than Trump? of course not. By the standards of the Party of Trump which is to say the GOP, not really.
In the context of a party led by a subhuman monster who, while in office, supported gratuitous deaths from Covid of ~300k people instead of responding in any sort of competent, proper way and for whom the primary concern of every policy was how it helps or enriches him (and who is still electable), I can't see Robinson being especially bad, awful, disgusting, sorry. (Not a defense of him intended at all.)
Meanwhile, for all the criticizing of let's say Robinson's lifestyle and beliefs, I don't see NC rejecting him for a Democrat, more particularly a Jewish specially now that Trump is let's say encouraging antisemitism by painting Jews as his personal enemy--Jews with voter fraud will be the only reasons he loses the election per him.
Robinson looks yet more par for the course when one looks at the kind of people who vote for Trump: willful ignoramuses, people who put their greed for a tax cut ahead of the good of the nation, and so on and so forth.
Robinson, other than being electable isn't the problem, the entire GOP is: special interests, chickenshit, unprincipled, venal politicians, and every voter who vote any of the Republicans now in office--actually, that's a much bigger problem than Robinson alone.
BTW, the core supporters of the GOP have been supportive of Nazis and Nazis' beliefs since the 1930s. (Still no defense of Robinson intended. As if.)
