Two points, first the serious one: the judicial resistance to Trump shot pulling is an inspiration to say the least.
A lot of his strength is from people let’s say being too quick to submit to him. Many, many, more people need to just say no (I know) to him. Like a lot of us just did.
But seven hours of deliberation to acquit Sandwich Guy? I’m wondering whether deliberation straddled lunch and, if so, sandwiches were allowed? I can make an argument that allowing them sandwiches could skew or affect the verdict. Just saying.
Began my attention to TPM when I bookmarked the site right around the Cheney/Shrub invasion of Iraq, and have been a reader — and latterly, a subscriber — ever since. Josh Marshall has recruited top talent over the years, and long may TPM prosper with just plain standout journalism.
To answer the question - do you like TPM - I love it. It's as needed as my morning latte and breakfast. I miss it on weekends. Took me a while to subscribe but I'm so glad I did. The Cheney/shrub era was also when I discovered TPM so to still have it is a great thing. Thank you.
To me, Speaker Pelosi's greatest strategic/tactical achievement was finding enough common ground with the Progressive Caucus (props to them for their pragmatic reciprocity) so that Congress could pass much of Biden's early agenda, while ensuring that many of the PC's legislative goals were at least partially met. Two other memorable and symbolic moments: calling out Trump to his face in a meeting in the White House and shredding his SOTU speech directly behind him at the end of his speech.
Don't forget the attempt to murder NP's husband, even though he survived getting his skull bashed in.
Been a reader since 2002, when this was a one person show and josh took down trent lott all on his own. I continue to read each day. congrats to all.
My first day at TPM was December 12, 2000 IIRC.
Starts my day and clears my head for the trials ahead!

sounds like there was a secret MAGAt on the jury.
Thank you David for a
really nice piece on
TPMs evolution. You
have all done a good job
here and on the site.
7 hrs for verdict on the
assault by sandwich.😁
They all took a nap.
Have a wonderful
weekend everyone.
In solidarity with....

Re : the "Sandwich Guy's verdict..."What is jury nullification for $1000, Alex".
"use of force shocks the conscience" apparently not enough to do anything about it other than issue "orders" which accomplish nothing.
