Interesting and contrasting visuals you've offered up this morning, David...the polished and urbane Obamas v the rude, crude Hulk Hogan, the latter I had no idea was still a thing until the RNC put him up on the rostrum as "featured". But, those vids eloquently illustrate the gulf separating the Dems from the MAGA set...rather be us than them, thank you very much.
I thought Nixon's campaign was sad in 1968 when the best they could come up with for "cutting edge entertainment" was Connie Francis but the Trumpers have outdone the Trickster.
I mean, low-energy doesn't even half-describe him...either tRump senses he's on the way to losing in November, OR he feels that campaigning is a waste of time because he reckons that the cheating-and-stealing apparatus in now in place, and he really doesn't need actual votes...the latter has been a feature of several speeches of his. What does he know that the rest of us don't?
Trump was handed a list of talking points by his campaign. As we know, Trump flails unless he's at a rally and can get the applause he needs to fuel his mendacious ad libs and insults. Trump seems lost when he's forced to give a real speech and talk about why he should be president.
One thing puzzles me - why Biden was so unpopular among Democrats up until the day he dropped out of the race, and then he became the revered leader who so graciously agreed not to run again. The hypocrisy has been conveniently ignored by the media and the Democratic party. Suddenly they're touting Biden's accomplishments - which they ignored for over 3 years. History, however, will not forget. Biden's approval ratings were seldom over 40 percent. Was it because of his age? Well, what was it about?
You might as well ask why the public turned on the Clintons, why they're not popular in many Democratic party circles. Its because they were propaganda tainted. Someone literally argued that Bill Clinton oppressed homosexuals because he didn't wave a wand and make it all better. Bill tried, but failed. The best he could do was put a crack in the wall, a foot in the door. But it was an important step forward. These incremental changes add up.
The Clintons also tried to reform healthcare, and the health insurance industry put billions into trashing them for decades.
Biden faced opposition not only from a majority GOP Congress, but deal breakers such as Joe Manchin and Kirsten Sinema didn't help, especially when it came to his projects such as Build Back Better. Manchin is in the pocket of the fossil fuel industry, and Sinema was just an idiot. Trump set up the withdrawal from Afghanistan and Biden could not change anything, and the NY Times led the charge to crucify him for it. But even before then, Biden's approval ratings were low because the news media was always much more negative in their coverage of him than they ever were of Trump. What I was getting at was the fact that within his own party Biden did not get the support he should have gotten, then they pressured him to drop out of the race, and suddenly he's become a revered president after so many hypocrites in the party threw him under the bus.
It seems to me that everything turned south for Biden following the bad press after the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and then the House flipping to the Rs, perhaps because of continued inflationary pressures souring the electorate on "Bidenomics". Sure, simplistic analysis, but people react to events in simplistic manners, and Joe's favorability ratings continued to crater up to ending his re-election campaign.
It is what it is, and nothing would have ever turned for Biden to put him in a position to beat tRump in November.
Is there some way to post video not linked to X? I appreciate your writing but I refuse to have an X account so I am unable to watch the videos you post.
I don't have an X/Twitter account either but I'm able to view the videos. I just can't Like them or anything since I'm not logged in. Maybe it's your browser?
People have noted a direct correlation between the speed and frequency of his hand-accordion panto with the intensity of his lying...watch some of his vids, listen to the text, and see for yourself.
3 big stories: Judy Woodruff walking back her claim that Trump contacted Bibi to reject cease fire; NYT piece on DOJ investigation of American’s role in Russian interference to our elections; Xitter list of investors released!

It's simple: Trump has gone so abysmally low, that even the gutter is elevated territory

Kid Rock...Lee Greenwood...whoa, whatta lineup to get people stomping and shouting!

I remember how the Trumpers had a hard time finding musical entertainment for his inauguration in 2017 and had to settle for the US Marine Band.
Who's sorry now?
More studies in contrast: this vid grabbed by Aaron Rupar from a tRump speech in Howell, MI:

Speaking of Obama's mocking of Trump's hand gestures, do a YouTube search on "Trump accordion" for extra laughs!
