Re Minnesota and Lee: IMO and as a rule, the entire GOP, politicians, voters and special interests are literally pathological — sick f*cks all to put it colloquially. And that extends to them lacking any common decency for anyone outside their “tribe”.

Obviously, being a rule, there are exceptions but fewer than too few to matter.

And Trump didn’t create this pathology — it goes back at least to the 80s/90s. What he did do was exploit and empower it with that fecal touch of his that makes *everything* worse.

Too, per that other rule in which every accusation is an admission, they’re also the true vermin.

Mike Lee has been inexorably sliding down the MAGA rabbit-hole for several years now, and he as yet hasn't touched bottom.

Doesn’t make him special in the least.

Lance, he's getting pretty close. What a despicable individual he has become in recent years.

We will all witness the sun rising in the west before the first judge will actually impose a contempt citation on DHS, DOJ, or any other tRump regime "legal" rep, bank it.

Lance, I don't entirely agree with you on the contempt citation possibility. Somebody like Xinis might issue one but the problem is how will such a citation be enforced.

I believe a judge can order a person arrested and detained on the spot. Sure the next judge might order them released but at least someone will be held responsible if only for a few hours.

Runfast - yes, you're right. It would likely be catch and release but it would establish a salutory precedent.

Just when we thought that a simulacrum of sanity was imposed upon the mass ICE roundups, and somebody persuaded tRump to exempt Ag and hospitality industries from snatch-and-deport, Stephen Miller and MAGA "purists" wrestled back the initiative and resumed work-place arrests regardless of employer, needs, or lack of replacement employees.

And here I thought — foolishly, it appears — that a more influential WH advisor got the best of Übersturmgruppenführer Miller...[ sigh].

Lance I'm hoping the übersturmgruppenführer will be toppled off his pedestal anyday now.

What happened to not “lionizing” the shooters. All the media has done is raise his profile. Am I wrong?

The more important the issue, the more the establishment news media mishandles it if you know what I mean.

Describing his sick beliefs would be fine, naming him is not.

But, again, it’s the media who have a sufficient enough track record that we should know better and expect to good from them.

There was a shooting at the No Kings demo in Salt Lake City. Victim was a clothing designer with a Project Runway credit so there was a 7th Ave. component in the story, but the primary homicide police procedural was normal. Included cop quotes sympathetic to the demo.
