As the university president noted in your cite, the Trump style of fighting anti-demitism is a complete sham. That's proven by the Trump DOD requiring mention of the Holocaust be scrubbed.from their websites.

Absolutely True. The Trump administration is home to a number of antisemites. Plus, The Forward has a good opinion peace explaining that Trump's actions will make antisemitism worse

I am very concerned that the missing coverage of all the tarifs leave out that Russia, and only Russia, as far as I can tell, has not been included in Trump's economic rampage. Is this true? With the world-wide blizzard of punitive economic damage, why is no one pointing this out? Or am I mistaken?

I don't think Orban's

Hungary, Trump's other

good authoritarian

friend, has been

included with tariffs.

TPM should have a list

of those who are on

Trump's safe list.

It’s Monday so I’m going to be gentle. Like re that order to get the deportee back from El Salvador, I’ll take a pass on citing to the Balkinization post and just note that a) I don’t expect compliance with a court order and bb) the Roberts court has arguably signaled that they’re cool with the non-compliance.

As for stonks, I’m slightly surprised a weekend and maybe high end AI weren’t enough for the Masters of the Universe to dope things out enough for things to stabilize. Or maybe it’s just mindless panic divorced from reality.

There's panic, all right, but hardly mindless, as it's a case of repricing the extreme threat to the US and global economies by tRump's sheer recklessness and the concomitant impossibility of making considered business judgements in the face of his tariffs FUBAR.

Mindless because it’s still a knee jerk response without any sign of thought.

Examples:

AAPL has a shit ton of cash with which to support sales (presuming demand is reasonably stable). Of course, profits take a hit but given that, the drop in the price looks excessive.

OTOH, TSLA’s drop is not as big as a company with shitty fundamentals in a shrinking economy should warrant.

All signs still look knee jerk to me.

When one hears about both the unbridled lust of this administration for the removal and imprisonment of people beyond US shores, alongside the erasure of history and removal of books by or about people of color, the writings of Isabel Wilkerson come to the forefront of my thoughts. Germany crafted its final solution from the Jim Crow laws of the United States
