Well, the trump/DoJ machinations in the AK and CA midterm votes certainly give a note of truism to the adage, "It ain't over 'til it's over", as they've started early and promise to keep on keeping on well after ballots have been gathered, counted, and certified.

Presumably, some of the notable Senate races will be litigated after the vote all the way to 3 Jan, 2027, and the swearing in of the new Congress.

Hey, that's what trump/DoJ promised, and it's promises kept!

Oh, and outstanding bit of work laying out timelines for DoJ's latest assault on the vote in CA...Judge David Carter has already taken the trumpy crowd to the woodshed, as an AI compilation of his record indicates:

Key Rulings Against the Trump Administration

Dismissal of Voter Data Lawsuit

Case Details: Carter dismissed a lawsuit from the Trump administration that sought access to the personal information of California's voters.

Rationale: He emphasized that releasing such data would violate federal and state privacy laws and that the executive branch cannot unilaterally control election processes.

Blocking Noncitizen Voting Claims

Recent Case: Carter is currently involved in a case where the Justice Department is attempting to block California from counting mail-in ballots from over 20,000 voters suspected of being noncitizens.

Judicial Stance: His previous rulings indicate a strong defense of state authority over election administration and a commitment to protecting voter privacy.

Implications of His Rulings

Carter's decisions reflect a broader commitment to uphold democratic principles and state rights against federal overreach. His rulings have been pivotal in maintaining the integrity of California's election processes and protecting the privacy of its voters.
