Outstanding coverage of the DOJ's contempt manuevers. The detail about Emil Bove being named despite now siting on the bench is facinating, because it creates a situation where Boasberg might have to compel testimony from a sitting judge about his actions before confirmation.

Bove and his "fuck the judges" comment — and actions — seem to pose some potential legal difficulties, BUT — yes, the usual qualifier, as the DOJ has made it a career of stiffing Judge Boasberg, and so the rat-fuckery shows NO signs of abating, despite yet more court demands.

"Presumption of regularity" has taken such a beating during tRump's second term, as it's now *in extremis*, and final rites soon to be administered.

I'm confused about how they can break attorney/client privilege like that. Just get the lawyer's hard drive. Read everything on it?

So many horrid in today’s newsletter but this bears repeating as it contradicts the Rs spin from last week and has not been well reported in (except here at TPM of course): “but in a new twist NBC News reports that Adm. Frank “Mitch” Bradley told lawmakers in a classified briefing last week that Hegseth ordered everyone killed “because they were on an internal list of narco-terrorists who U.S. intelligence and military officials determined could be lethally targeted.” Yeah so it really was a kill all order. And a war crime. It’s really as simple as that.

Re: Noem and the AEA "deport" order...since tRump won't give up SecDef Kegsbreath, perhaps he'll trade the latter for Noem, as her profligate spending of taxpayer money on her own wants, plus bad-PR cosplaying as Nazi Nurse Ratched may well doom her tenure at DHS...Tom Homan awaits the phone call from tRump.
