RFK Jr and family swimming in literal shit is just too dead on an image…

Meanwhile, props to Judge Boasberg for, inter Alia, his efforts to ensure that if the case reaches SCOTUS it will or at least can have the kind of record that normally would tie the justices hands. Of course, given the reality and priorities of the junta that is the Roberts court…

Meanwhile, fun quote from current reading:

“As certain as Adams was that a virtuous citizenry was necessary for republican government to survive for long, he was never entirely persuaded that the American people possessed the requisite sense of duty”

And, of course, my minor obsession with how Hitler found us inspiring (and these days vice versa):

The flip side of that is a reminder of how anomalous the New Deal-Great Society period was. Of course, once the Democrats disavowed that era to be more like Republicans…

Jay is exactly right. Those of us who have used it (as at one time or another almost all our reps do) know how vital its function is. It's the brains of the congress literally.

The tRump crowd tried the "states secrets" ploy with Judge Jas, Boasberg earlier, and he wasn't having any of it, but it did provide a week or so of time-wasting for the defendants. Now they're trying it yet again in Judge Paula Xinis' courtroom, no doubt expecting the same treatment but gaining more days/weeks delay in "facilitating" — LOL! — the return of Abrego Garcià to the US.

Same as it ever was.

I really appreciate that you haven't forgotten the Abrego Garcia case. I think the administration counts on the rapidly flowing news cycle to wash that case out of the public memory.
