Well, David, a lot to chew on early this Monday a.m., but what strikes me — and has virtually since tRump began to issue his mostly illegal EOs — is the earnestness with which legal scholars present constitutional arguments against tRump regime actions, and yet the latter just carry on either twisting or obliterating laws to fit the moment. Those of us who actually still believe in the "rule of law", while appreciating the exegesis of federal laws by constitutional experts with reference to regime actions, find it ultimately frustrating that tRump persists in raising the level of presumptive law-bending — or breaking — despite solid and irrefutable evidence presented by legal minds against such actions, as cited in today's MM for example.
So, I ask, at what point does critical legal analysis become insufficient unto the day of the quotidian evils visited upon us by this regime? Rule by fiat is in fact the new order, respecting no law other than what the regime says it is, and well-meaning dissections of patently illegal actions are simply brushed aside. Nothing is dissuading this criminal regime from carrying out its vile agenda, and although the federal courts are attempting to slow it down, the Leviathan rolls on, undeterred. What is to be done?
One thing that really bothers me is people quitting before they can be fired.
May be a rational fear of retribution or attacks by pathologically insane people (aka our leaders) but I don’t think it sends a good message.
As for Moran, it’s Monday and I try to limit cynicism on Mondays but there’s the issue of establishment news media in complicity in bringing the nation to its current state. But again, Monday, so I’ll leave it at IYKYK. I mean, empowering the leopard eating your face and all that.
There’s a zillion reasons for last November but among the top reasons is a shit ton of voters mid- and poorly informed by a diet of establishment media deliberate BS.
Terry Moran already riled up the orange bastard with his WH interview some weeks ago, when he repeatedly and cogently challenged and corrected tRump on his lies. The regime only needed one more excuse for the inevitable phone call to ABC News HQ demanding Moran's head, and Terry gave it to them with his bang-on tweet re: Miller and tRump hate-mongering.
Yet another warning to legacy media to STFU and take a low profile.
What to do, what to do. I think in many senses, especially in light of what is still unfolding in LA, the hour is very, very late. I think it might have been too late in November. We're in serious trouble here. We are not safe. The few remaining guardrails aren't holding. I'm sorry, man, but there it is.
The thing about the Kilmar prosecution is that it shows his deportation wasn't just "administrative error." Why was he in ICE custody in the FIRST place? The claim of gang membership clearly isn't sustainable. THAT is why he was taken into custody. That suit--which is inter alia brought by Kilmar's WIFE and kid--sure could use a judgment for wrongful arrest (though that might have to go through the Court of Claims).
The complaint in TN mentions briefly the MS-13 connection. For that they will have to bring in the now fire/convicted guy upon whose claim the initial custody was made. Do they really want TWO impeachable witnesses in their case?
Trump itching to see violence between ICE and protesters and wants National Guard to inflict pain and suffering against people who hate Trump and all he stands for. The federal courts are frustrated and alarmed as government lawyers lie, postpone, dissemble and rebuff orders from the bench. Trump gets nowhere unless his comrades at DOJ support and align with him. Shameful!
Quitting before being fired; perhaps people examine a severance buy out and balance getting « something « vs being fired after staying on principle. I don’t know the details for employees but that could be a consideration
The dominos fall one by one, with no leaders to stop the chaos so far.

Thanks for the link to Jackson’s dissent on lifting the stay on DOGE access to SSA data.

Harsh, man...reread his tweets, still circulating on the internets...Moran let it fly, c'mon!
Being harsh re bad actions is my brand

Probably made a difference in November.

Still no sympathy for Moran and all the useful idiots of the establishment media. Their complicity is (or will be) historic.
Splendiferous! - Thanks for doing the heavy lifting for us. In addition to keeping us informed, you motivate us!
