A major rebranding of "America first" and the "Nobel Peace Prize president" to "We will kill anybody, any place, any time cos terrorism". How handing a mental defective almost unlimited power to direct "his" military anyway it suits him — domestic or international legal prohibitions notwithstanding — is somehow advancing US interests would represent something on the line of Germany's Reichstag passing the Enabling Act of 1933, giving Hitler virtually limitless and unchecked authority over all organs of the State.

Effectively, we are at that point today, and what tRump has grabbed off his own initiative, the Congress

is now proposing to enshrine in "law" to complete the process, then close up shop and leave it all to the Executive Branch...fascism proceeding on "little cat feet", much as Carl Sandburg's "Fog".

"Trump wants Bagram Air Base back and to re-establish a U.S. presence in Afghanistan."

Nobody ever says No to Donny. It's the story of his life. Not his parents, not the media when caught in endless lies, not the highest court in the land (given its record since Gore v Bush, I use the term "court" loosely), not the national Democratic Party.

And it's just going to get worse given that the entire establishment has no interest in resisting him at all.

Sorry to be so dark on a Friday but reality is what it is. Here's a crumb of hopium: Do what you can to recapture the Democratic Party and make it the party of FDR again.

The US attorney did the right thing. This was reported on several days ago that Trump was having one of his lackeys announce mortgage fraud charges against several of his perceived enemies and none of them are true. In the past decade we have all come to learn that with Trump it is more important the appearance of wrongdoing, and it does not matter whether it is true or not. That is what Trump did with Zelenskyy when he tried to get him to announce an investigation into Biden, and he refused.

No surprise Trump is holding the responsibility of failing to indict on the US attorney. It’s likely the best thing for the US attorney to get fired because working for Trump poisons the soul.

MAGA recruiting a Charlie Kirk Army is prime irony given that Charlie was never in the military. Even Drunken Pete served before bankrupting charities and becoming a Fox News weekend host.

I don’t know how much enthusiasm there will be, even in this select group, for invading Greenland and Canada. And their training will be slowed by listening to Joe Rogen for 3 hours every day.

Trump's desire to have a Nobel Peace Prize notwithstanding, his ramping up of the war machine may require more bodies than Charlie Kirk's fanbase will voluntarily provide.

I expect an Executive Order announcing the return of the draft to be coming soon.

If the draft was returned the 40% approval rating would go to 15%.

Re: Eric Seibert and prosecuting Tish James...sure, bring in some MAGA racist hack — Ed Martin, anybody? — to attempt to stick it to James will still need a fed Grand Jury to issue an indictment. The only way guaranteed to avoid a "no bill" is hand-pick the jurors..."We're looking into that".

I can think of nothing to say in response to this maelstrom of horrors. Instead, I will quote The Wasteland: "I think we are in rats' alley, where the dead men lost their bones."
