So triggering a world war albeit an economic one but having it blow up in his ugly face pushed Donny to punch down to individuals so he can feel like a strongman, or at least a more credible cosplayer of one.

Anyway, what I’m learning today; not so much that the twitches of the treasuries market is a much bigger problem than stonks but why they are — and knowing the why makes what’s going on there a huge concern.

OTOH, there are laffs: the establishment media all excited over stonks closing up Wednesday but, as they report that in the morning news, ignoring that the story did a 180 overnight with futures pointing down. To be clear, it’s not like I expect better — eg minimal honesty in reporting — the BS/reality juxtaposition amused. (As of ~11.00 AM, stonks are down almost $1,000. So much for Wednesday’s awesome close.)

"It is a daily struggle to convey how abnormal, dangerous, and unprecedented Trump’s depredations are"

You are right. This administration has benumbed many of us and unprecedented actions are in danger of becoming a new normal.

Great commentary.

Now I wonder if someone can offer more information about something I heard today. A friend of mine lives in Lowville, New York. At a historical Society meeting yesterday, one member told her that a Canadian relative tried to cross the border last week at the Thousand Islands crossing, was asked her opinion of Donald Trump, gave a truthful negative answer, and was not allowed to enter the United States. I don't have any reason to doubt the information I received, but I wonder if this was just an overly zealous border guard or something else entirely?

Thinking that SCOTUS will uphold the Constitution or the Rule of Law is delusional. The SCOTUS MAGA majority have bent the Constitution & law to enable policies they approve regardless of plain Constitutional language or precedent. Emolument Clause: No Standing, 14th Amendment doesn't mean what it says... on & on. Declaration of Independence complains of no Habeas Corpus & sending arrestees overseas. An EO targeting citizens who've not committed a crimes—— we're living under a tyranny.

Ah, yes, the good Mr Jeffreys, locked into conventional thinking when confronted with unconventional tRumpian authoritarianism and rank lawlessness. Keep those "discharge petitions" on the front burner, chief, that'll show them!
