Thanks for the read-out. Sorry I can’t pay—just an informed senior out here with my SS check on the line. I can’t think straight since the story of the dead not dead man in Seattle had his benefits and Medicare stopped. Not only stopped, but some payments CLAWED back from his bank account! I appreciate your work. Out here riveted on the details of this compressed fascistic couple of months—I’ve been worried about tax/wealth inequality/attack on govt since Reagan won in 1980! It’s been a long-ass well-planned assault.
It’s so ironic to think that if Biden or Obama had acted towards the Courts like this, the Republicans would already have Articles of Impeachment drawn up & a trial date set.
You came close, but, in the end spared us the beltway standard crutch line of “John Roberts is an institutionalist” horseshit. While Trump is Grifter-in-Chief, Roberts, Thomas and Alito are senior grifters and they aren’t going to surrender that status to anyone. They, as much as anyone created, enabled and saved Trump and he even thanked Roberts last week via open mike. But, threats to their empowered domain won’t be tolerated.
"But we need to see appeals courts and the high court itself weighing in on the substance of these cases *in the weeks and months to come* before we can assess whether the judicial branch will hold the line."
...in the weeks and months to come...ah, but you see, there's the rub. Elno, tRump, Vaughn, Homan, et al can continue their rampage through our government and our Constitution, creating irremediable damages along the way, dodging and prevaricating in spite of TROs and injunctions, until at some point well into the future, they MAY be ordered to cease and desist by SCOTUS, but in the meantime the damage has been done, and the consequences irreversible...which after all was and is the point of "flooding the zone".
flooding the zone has resulted in poor preparation for court to our benefit having an unelected bureaucrat billionaire musk running things hasn't helped Pino either
Indeed the Constitution has, and will, continue to treat the scoundrel very unfairly in the asset's eyes. That's why the cultists are contemplating calling a constitutional convention.
I just struggle to understand why it matters. The executive branch is the one in charge of enforcing court decisions. Trump, as the head of the executive branch, will just ignore the court decisions. The system never made any sense, but at least it worked so long as the people in the White House cared about the Constitution and about fulfilling their Constitutional role. The second we got someone in there who doesn’t care about those things, the whole thing falls apart. Every court in the country can rule against Trump; I see absolutely no mechanism through which that stops him, even a little bit.

I am struggling to believe that the Roberts message portends any real teeth coming from this compromised court.

So those court orders adverse to Trump: how’s the compliance going and are appeals being filed with stays requested?
I keep seeing stuff about orders but little about what happens next.
I know a lot of the problem there is me missing things but what am I missing exactly?

You're forgetting the 4th branch of government - the people. If he pisses off enough people you will see the pitchforks come out.
King George thought the
same thing, until 'the
people' in that far away
country said ENOUGH!
isn't there something about civil cases he's not in charge of.. maybe things brought by States I don't know either
