Since the 2018 TX Senate race, where Ted Cruz defeated Beto O’Rourke, one can say without fear of contradiction that Texas is where Democratic hopes come to die, and I fear it will be the same scenario this November. Never underestimate Texas voters' loathing of any Democrat up against a right-wing GOPer, no matter how tainted, or morally and ethically compromised the candidate might be. Only saving grace here in the Paxton nomination is the amount of campaign funding that suddenly gets switched to the TX race that should have gone elsewhere.
We just need to be prepared that, as his power and influence wane, the Orange Blob will become a lot more unhinged and dangerous.
