The Stoppard story is amazing. Thanks for sharing it. He's my favorite playwright. In the midst of all the terrible news today, it's a moment of light.

What type of person describes human beings as “leeches” — I’m flabbergasted by Noem’s disgusting tweet. 💥TPM excellent resource💥

She’s not a person. She has parts of a human body mixed with lots of filler. She and her MAGAT cohorts have no respect for life—human, canine or otherwise. They have no honor. They are a malevolent collective. They are not persons. Just sayin’.

Operative theory pending either to the next election or I just forget about the theory: Larger than the cohort of voters who are sufficiently informed is the cohort that CT’s on vibes. So I see Team Trump just cranking out things that trigger more and more negative vibes.

Like the idea they seem to be pushing that the Venezuelan killings are top level officers out of control, not cowards following SecDef’s orders. I mean, seriously, who in their right mind (by definition excluding MAGAts there) would buy that insanity? Of course, the tell is that Trump and Hegseth don’t follow up and say they’re ordering it stopped.

I know, should be obvious.

Meanwhile, re the mystery MRIs, people are supposed to take the White House’s word as opposed to being provided with copies of the reports. OTOH, of course I’d say that because I’m the kind of person waiting for the release of all medical records from Donny’s 2024 assassination attempt.

Re: "double-tapgate"...I posted this elsewhere — There's at least indirect evidence that the Pentagon knew they fucked up on the 2 Sept. "double-tap" murder, as on 17 Oct, following a US attack on a "semi-submersible", two survivors of four originally on board were plucked out of the ocean very much alive by the Navy, held in a ship's brig, then later repatriated to Ecuador and Colombia respectively. No "double- tap" murders here, but rather strict conformity to the "shipwrecked" scenario, where survivors of an attack were rescued, presumably treated for any wounds suffered, and eventually "sent home".

This certainly suggests that there would be NO further killing of any people surviving attacks on their boats after the disgraceful show on 2 Sept, as quite possibly legal opinions were sent down to Navy personnel on duty in tRump's self-styled "war zone" detailing criminal liability for acts similar to that occurring in early September. Hopefully, Congressional investigations can pull the truth out of the Pentagon concerning this reprehensible act.

Interesting that, of all the blatantly illegal things that Trump et all have done that have actually resulted in more than a few deaths all over the world, it is this illegal military action has has really caught the attention of even a few Republican representatives. And, also interesting that Trump is literally alienating the military, even though he might need them to stay in power. Is it in "The Wire" or "Homicide: Life on the Street" that the cop hero says: "Crime makes you stupid"?

Throughout history, we have had to deal with politicians who ordered members of the military to do certain things and then tried to shift the blame to the people who were given those orders and simply did what they were legally required to do. Trump and Hegseth are just beneath contempt.

Kegsbreath, like his Daddy, demented Donnie Two-Dolls, will never admit to anything. It will take the GOP-controlled Senate to do something if they can find some courage to do the right thing.
