Judge Murphy says “this seems like it MAY be contempt”? WTF people, what’s it gonna take? I realize this will be a big deal but get on with it already.
It's called being careful. That's what good judges are. He also recognizes the seriousness of contempt, even the civil kind. The last thing Murphy wants to do is clap someone in irons precipitously and then have his order reversed. Good judges lay the groundwork and ensure all boxes are checked before doing something drastic. So kudos to him.
Shipping immigrants to South Sudan? An active war zone? And here we thought Libya was an extreme "third-country" deportation choice. OK, now I'm waiting for a federal court to hear pleas from clients reportedly flown to the Gaza Strip...is that possibility any more fanciful than what already has occurred?...JFC!

Is McIver being charged with just a misdemeanor? My understanding is that in federal courts a grand jury is REQUIRED for indictment for a felony
When is DOJ going to figure out that Federal judges don’t need a security clearance to review classified info.
