It never, ever ends when it comes to Trump. Every move, every word, everything about him seems to be just part of an unending assault on America and the world. I know that that is exactly the point. I have long since given up on the idea that there is anything left of him that is redeemable, so I don’t expect that anything he does will ever be anything good for anyone other than himself. What I cannot understand is how anyone can keep supporting this worthless piece of human excrement. If he’s not actually the worst president in our history, it’s certainly not for lack of trying on his part. He is, however, unquestionably the worst person ever to have been elected—and that’s saying a lot.

I got here after already surveying headlines in the political press and as to the question of who would be "snookered" by Trump's ruse that he now supports the House vote to release the files it would appear to include by my informal survey nearly everyone.

The title says it all. But there is always more.

Friggin Garland never should’ve just shrugged his shoulders and walked away when Flynn backed out of his plea deal. Now we are going to hand him $50 million.

Ms. Solnit says it all.

Thanks David for

including her.

Not a day goes by where

we can have peace and

quiet from Trump. Even

the weekends at his golf

clubs aren't enough to

shut him up.

Judges overseeing Lindsey Halligan's so-called indictments of James Comey and Tish James are about to grind up her and her spurious cases for chum, as her level of incompetence and basic unfamiliarity of federal law procedures are beyond embarrassment. The natural consequences of shit-canning trained, veteran prosecutors for neophyte losers in order to push through blatantly political indictments having no legs to stand on...prostitute oneself for tRump and this is what happens. There goes whatever future Halligan thought she had as a practicing attorney — she'd be fortunate to even avoid disbarment procedures.

Emil Bove is nothing but a Trump toady who decided getting a federal appeals court judgeship would be worth selling his soul to a disgusting pig and doing his bidding. When he faced Senate confirmation, was it known that he gave the order to approve the murder of men in boats in the Caribbean? He’s a killer, just like Trump, Hegseth, Rubio, etc. They are all psychopaths!!!

21 military strikes to kill 83 people works out to how much per person? $200k per mission x 21 missions = $4.2M ÷ 83 = $50,602/person. This is just plain stupid.

Good stuff from Rebecca Solnit. There are people buried under their political leanings who live and breath this stuff. They're very removed from those who don't suck all that up on a minute by minute basis. Schatz makes that clear.

Ex-supporters are turning away from all the failed promises of affordable homes, cheaper food prices and zero inflation. That's why many, those who don't spend all their time navel gazing belief systems, have changed their votes. The Nazis and fascists have always been around. That's not going to change. But that's not the bulk of what is now a fast-shrinking coalition. Time to recruit those who are re-thinking what they see and hear.

That's how people change and adapt, isn't it?

Re Comey: Judge just ordered the release of the grand jury materials, obviously because all the underlying grand jury fuckery the insurance lawyer (Marcy Wheeler’s characterization or slur of Halligan) had and has been pulling. For the non-litigators: Between that and the meritless charges on one hand and Comey’s super sharp counsel on the other hand, the former’s only chance here is somehow getting something to the Roberts junta.

Re Flynn: As ever, the reminder that it takes a more-than-complete piece of garbage to incite Obama to fire them.

To be honest, much as I love Solnit—a TPM-class treasure—the linked piece is about the worst thing of hers I’ve ever read. But that’s on style grounds; terribly written but, as always, she’s correct.
