Shouldn’t someone question journalists, etc. use of the phrase “gender ideology?”

Yes. It is gibberish. There is no “ideology” involved.

Re Obergefell: I’m so old I remember how nominees would be asked about their position on, I dunno, let’s say abortion and the response would be whatever they had to say to the senators. And then one day, after the nominee was confirmed, we get Dobbs.

To be clear, it’s not just choice, a it’s a number of issues. They’re asked to lie, they lie and then they screw us.

So Obergefell. It’s been on a bubble of reversal forever. I won’t say reversal is imminent but it’s certainly likelier than not. Which is to say I don’t care what a nominee says about it.

I’d also add that a lot of things can be protected by addressing the core problem instead of each problem individually. And the core problem is the broad failure of the national Democrats.

As an alt-Republican party beholden to Republican special interests, the good they can do is extremely limited. That is the situation because far too many Democratic politicians are in it for self-enrichment. The party has to be cleaned up before any good to speak of is possible.

"Christian" Right not only want *Obergefell* overturned, but *Lawrence* (sodomy) and *Griswold* (contraceptives) as well, so there's a full plate eventually heading toward this extremist Scotus to embrace "Christian values"...oh, hoo-fecking-ray.

Agreed, and this peril returns us to the question of why expend our resources on keeping together the irreconcilable parts of the country?

Come again?

You think I’m *that* wrong?

?? Not sure what you meant to say, but I fully concur with your *Obergefell* thought...the asterisks are supposed to denote italics, in the manner that SCOTUS decisions normally are referenced. Don't think Substack allows HTLM markups.

That “Christ” sounded a little like 🤮, hence my confusion.

The core problem is the broad failure of the US populace to seek and receive information.

The guardians of pedophiles have ensured that.

The ignorance is a funny problem. First there’s decades of being misinformed by the media, then not being interested in being actually properly informed. It’s pure “1984” in keeping the proles distracted.

Obviously, as we here know, we can do the work to actually be informed but far too few people have the requisite interest.

Obergefell may be in the Roberts Court chopping block soon. All hail the new Washington Litigation Group and add to that big kudos for the honorable Senator Whitehouse for that letter to the Chief Justice (who is likely consign it to the block-long dumpster he reserves for all such appeals and petitions to his conscience. Meanwhile the DHS is afflicted with the BNP "build new prisons" virus, a disease RFKjr will no doubt refuse to authorize a vaccine for. The laughable House Oversight Committee will turn on the printing press in the basement and will start cranking out subpoenas for all and sundry. The fun never stops.
