More necessary than the boldest coffee today.

IMO, private monies in election have to be eliminated — Citizens United reversed. And that takes a sufficiently engaged and informed electorate. Which is to say between the odds of that GOP vote riggings…

As for not having to be this way, as David referred to it: it absolutely has to be the way it is. The dominant party is actively anti-democratic and the other party refuses to oppose too vigorously for fear of alienating the parties’ common monied interests, no one’s going to do anything about it all til we make them and, well…

That said, the only power we have — dwindling but not gone — is our vote. It ain’t much but it’s the way.

Not much maybe but so far in our nations direst hours, it has been enough. May it be so today.

What I said: it's still such power as we have.

JustDumb has once again spectacularly lived up to his name. Pray this is the last time we will ever have to hear him.

David Kurtz, you have said a mouthful! When I think of all the money spent on this election and what it could have done for our country…

We can’t go through this again.

People aren't stupid, they're just misinformed, and there's a constant flow of billions of dollars funding that alternate reality. Until we can take back the narrative, a lot of people will continue to vote against themselves.

Perhaps It doesn’t have to be a certain way, but our nation lacks a progressive leader.

There were more slaves than owners; John Brown, for example, tried to organize.

Part of our mess is our Two Party System. Both crush progressive evolution , as I’ve observed since George McGovern on.

Thank you for writing so frankly in this dark moment

Musk, Leonard Leo, and sundry other big-money actors are reportedly throwing massive funding into a maelstrom of election law-suits directed toward delegitimizing Harris wins down to the county level. It's just not any longer just about the vote, the vote count, the tabulation and certification, leading ultimately from a local to state to national consensus on who won, it's also banjaxing all those steps between with mountains of "legal" interference, preponderantly frivolous.

These people mean business, dirty business, and the fragmented nature of American voting processes and procedures offer a broad paying field for this sort of rat-fuckery, first seen in the aftermath of the 2020 elections, but now turbocharged by wealthy ideologues and their armadas of lawyers more skilled and battle-tested in order to really up their game.

Hang on, people, we are likely to have weeks if not months of indecision ahead of us...the far-right has promised it, believe them.
