*Judge* Cannon has made a spectacular hash of her Garcia hearings, even going off on one of Jack Smith's prosecutors for "wasting the court's time"...LOL! Smith and his team have bent over backwards to assure fairness in legal representation for both the defendants and witnesses in the upcoming (?) trial, and their many motions reflect that. The prosecution has been tendentiously educating Cannon in how to avoid a future successful post-trial appeal filed by convicted parties on Sixth Amendment grounds, but it doesn't seem to have fully registered with the judge. An all-round shitshow, by any account.
Maybe I’ve been around the block too many times, or just too cynical, however incompetent at her job that Cannon, I cannot believe that every solid she does the defendant is inadvertent, due to being played by defense counsel. I’m inclined to believe some, if not all, acts of hers on behalf of the defendant are deliberate. She’s an active player here.
Maybe the biggest tell is that didn’t voluntarily recuse herself from this case in view of her hugely improper action in regard to the MaL subpoena that preceded the inspection of the premises.
I keep returning to Leonard Leo. It’s simply a fact; She wouldn’t have her current position without Trump and without being part of the Federalist society. That means Leo money. I’m not saying she is paid off in a direct sense, but she knows which side her bread is buttered on.
They’re primarily party apparatchiks, serving the party before the law. The tell of that is all the decisions based on deliberately misreading or misinterpreting the law or putting in dicta to flag a future decision they want to make. It’s so bad now that they even accept cases where there’s technically no actual aggrieved party -- a virtual party so to speak.
Any doubt I had that it was not deliberate, washed away in the months it has taken to settle what should have been a no brainier conflict of interest. I mean, seriously? A brain dead zombie wouldn’t need that amount of time. Cannon is fully indoctrinated. Which I say sadly. How many more of her ilk are out there, waiting to be activated, like a Manchurian candidate? ... it’s disheartening, but not much can be done.
Speaking of Fani Willis and the RICO case, another defendant has pleaded out to lesser charges, and a promise to testify for the prosecution in other indictees' trials -- that would be Sidney Powell, who has some juicy tales to tell in re: first-hand accounts of tRump meetings and the "fake electors" schemes plus the attacks on Dominion voting hardware and software. Creeping ever closer to Individual 1.
Israel has a long history of blaming its stupidity on the Palestinians. Last year an IDF soldier shot a Palestinian American journalist in the head, claiming it was a Palestinian who shot her. Ballistics tests proved it was an Israeli soldier whose gun was the murder weapon. Israel's habit is to blame the Palestinians whenever there's a hospital bombing or sniper who shoots a child or an international. What's inexcusable has been Biden's knee-jerk public pronouncements without proof that Hamas was responsible. Claiming to have seen video of beheaded babies when he saw no such thing was a bridge too far. Am I the only one who's noticed that he hasn't said a word urging a ceasefire but instead has promised support that Congress hasn't authorized and might not?
I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a “knee jerk reaction” on Biden’s part. Of all people, Joe Biden wants a peaceful solution to this, while not appeasing known terrorists. C’mon.
