As usual David Kurtz provides a good roundup of the shitstorm that America is battling. Good news that Biden is now (finally) adding term limits and other SCOTUS reform measures to his agenda. The rest is largely bad news, but that’s where we are. Re: Adam Schiff saying we will lose with Biden at the top of our ticket, but we have just a few days to replace him on the ballot.—Yikes. I will say regardless of whether people agree on Biden or not, if they don’t have a united or realistic plan to replace him these “private fundraiser comments” are NOT helpful to any Dems. Do something or STFU about it (IMO.) Republicans back a criminal scumbag and a Nazi and they are all united.
Inertia is going to keep Biden as the nominee.... Are we just going to sleepwalk into letting the orange career criminal beat us without the best we can do? It's taken days since the debate for me to process and accept that Biden may be too weak to win. I've tried to stay neutral but every time I see him, I'm less inspired that he can win over the people on the fence, undecideds, non-voters, etc.
I've watched every interview he's had, including the excellent press conference (minus the classic Biden flubs, big deal) and he's Ok. Just Ok. Because of his debate performance, he needs to be more than Just Ok and that's the problem. For most of the last two years, I've been watching his appearances with apprehension, hoping not to see a fall or serious blunder, but now I feel like 'whatever, this is your choice, I don't care how you come across; this is on you'. I don't feel emotionally invested in him like I was.
What kind of campaign wins with no excitement but instead fear, dread and resignation? Democrats are going to vote for him and I will vote for him and work as hard as I can if he's the nominee but I'm afraid that won't be enough.
David, your post on 7/16, Whirlwind of Events... was a tour de force. Maybe after these events are absorbed and set aside, we can look at Biden with a level of fervor that we need.
We need a very large contingent of lawyers and judges, and maybe even justices...to make a strong comment - a page in the NY Times would be a start - about the unlawful, unconstitutional and unethical behavior of SCOTUS and Aileen Cannon.
Adam Schiff just lost my vote forever. Oh yeah, he'll win here, but it'll be with one less vote than he had, that he will never get back. Those of us with a "Schiff problem" in any of our representatives in a blue seat should leave it blank. Let them win by less than they expected. As a warning.
I now regret I didn't vote for Kate Porter, who would never be a Vichy Democrat.
Does Adam Schiff have access to polls we don't? The ones I have seen on 538 today show the race extremely close, with a slight - very slight - edge going to Biden. If he has other datapoints we don't, let's see them!
Oi, TC, in your parlance, two more "idiots" heard from, as Schumer and Jeffries together told Joe that his remaining in the race is "imperilling Dem candidates for Congress".

David, thank you for highlighting the John Ganz piece, as I flagged it yesterday here because of his closing remark:
"Just you wait"..
Which is exactly how the tRump/Hillbilly ticket will get to work on their "enemy list" if elected.

If he's still the nominee.

Tempted to respond in kind as you did below to my post, but not my style. Schiff is spot on, ignore him at your peril.
😡
Retalitory violence after the assassination attempt?
Against whom? Twenty year old bullied white Republican loners??
GMAFB.

To John Gantz, a good addendum: https://open.substack.com/pub/aaronrupar/p/jd-vance-phony-populism-trump?r=e989i&utm_medium=ios
Better headline:
"Biden Relents, Drops Out of Race, Names VP Kamala Harris as Head of Ticket"
Another idiot heard from.
