The whole concept of "conservative colorblindness" is a prime example of confusing the ideal with the reality. The result is buying into our country's slogans, meant to be inspiring but only TO BE achieved, and thinking that THAT means being patriotic.

Can you imagine being a "regular Joe" handling boxes containing documents that, just a short time earlier, required US Generals and other high-ranking Gov’t officials entering high-security rooms to have top-level security clearances just to peek inside?

Re Atlanta: based on my reading of it at TPM, the victory looks like a fairly minor, easily correctable one, which is to say that at least as of now a minor one. I’m not going to agree that it’s significant til I see a good explanation why it is. Or, I should say, as a cynical retired litigator, I have a pretty good understanding how this stuff works. Too, I’d like to believe that McAfee, with all the delaying he’s doing here and with the disqualification is actually helping by ensuring that successes on appeal are unlikely because, you know, we should want any and all convictions to stick.

And, of course, I’m well on record preferring that none of the four cases get finally resolved before the election instead of giving BLOTUS an acquittal which, in practice, would be vindicating. (Yes, I know, that puts Smith’s cases at huge risk but he can always do the superseding indictment thing if he can show dissemination of any of the retained materials by BLOTUS IYKWIM.
