Anyone wanting an in-depth analysis of the Graham-Trump relationship should look up Will Saletan's "The Corruption of Lindsey Graham." Brought to us from the fine folk at The Bulwark, Will's sadly fascinating (very) long read is also up for a Webby.

Congratulations to TPM and MM for making your goal!

Trump is a dumpster site on

fire, spreading more and

more lies and Russian

propaganda everywhere he

goes. I hope - yes, hope is

a good thing - the courts are

finally going to do some long

lasting damage to the oozing

boil.

Going to be a busy court

month for the boil. Expect

even more unhinged Truths.

He's going to eat every word

of his "leave abortion up to

the states". Look at Arizona

Supreme Court revising 160

yr old abortion ban law.🙄

As Napoleon said during the Battle of Austerlitz, "Never interfere with an enemy who is defeating himself."

"Trump’s dual play of claiming credit for overturning Roe while abandoning for the moment his abortion-foe allies, fooled a few journalists (not all), but most people saw it clearly for what it was."

"...fooled a few journalists...". Well, only those journalists who are paid to be fooled, and whose stock-in-trade is tRump stenography, and we know where several of those are employed (hint: its HQ is on Eighth Ave., NYC).

A few loose ones…

Were I the praying kind, I’d be praying that Trump gets the Bobby Seale treatment at trial. If you don’t know what I mean, do a search re Chicago 7 trial.

In either case, hoping to an argument in the hush money case for an appellant argument that the court erred in allowing Trump to keep talking and thereby biasing the jury against him instead of, I suppose, giving him the Bobby Seale treatment.

And not to defend Graham, what active, in-office Republican has any principles? Then again, Trump has neither principle nor loyalty so 🤷‍♂️

Love the Bobby Seale/Chi-7 reference...big upvote!

It certainly seems like the trial is going to go ahead. We'll see. There's still a gauntlet of MAGA judges trying to stop it.

Lindsey Graham, [sigh], he's been personally administering a colonoscopy to tRump for 8yrs now, and look for him to yet again insert his head into tRump's rectum, seeking absolution for his sins...oy vey.

Re your link to the story about Trumps $175 million bond. I have a couple of questions: (1) didn't the AG have to approve or accept the bond? and (2) what options does the AG have now, if any, to address the apparent infirmities of the bond?

It’s for the court to accept, til they didn’t.

My beloved AG, Tish, has also brought a whole lot of s*** about the whatever it was exactly (because it doesn’t seem to be a bond but an empty promise).

It seems James and the court are on it and doing what needs to be done as quickly as electorally possible.

Now Graham can serve as handy whipping boy for Cheeto Benito's homophobic cult followers. Yes Lindz you may be destroyed. Sorry not sorry. Choices!

I guess it will be the women who will save us. Gov Hochul said you know Trump is lying when his lips are moving. Speaker Pelosi scolded Geist for giving credibility to Trump’s lies, and questioned the talking point of progressives protesting. At least you covered Gov Healey here. Yes I’m a subscriber, yes I want better media, and yes please stop giving more coverage to the party of domestic terrorists.

Hope this helps, from Friday's Morning Memo:

About That Trump Appeal Bond …

Trump’s $175 million appeal bond in the New York civil fraud case may not be sufficient under state law, and Attorney General Letitia James is asking questions.
