Good article. Many people think the USA will continue on forever. But all governments fall. Hopefully the USA will last another 248+ years. Or we could just put a fork in it this November. That’s the choice.

"Trump’s plans are no mystery, and they’re no secret."

We MUST work to ensure this man is given neither the rights and privileges of the Leader of the Free World nor the Launch Codes ever again.

Great stuff as usual. Particularly the end of the Kacsmaryk Loophole and the "right colored coat."

Thank you for leading off with comments about the real threat of (if) trump II is allowed to happen. It would be as bad if not worse than described. We've seen TFG's revenge and retribution with respect to the leadership of the Republican party -- decapitated! We see the anger, revenge and retribution focused on Zelensky in his reported comments to Orban in which he said his solution to Russia's invasion of Ukraine would be to cut all aid from the US. Of course, this action would also promote another TFG goal helping Putin win the war and simultaneously weakening and undermining the US and NATO. Let's wake up, folks. The treat is real.

Robert Hubbell is only the latest commentator to level fire at AG Merrick Garland for his atrocious pandering to "bipartisanship" and a "politics-free" Main Justice by his selection of tRumpy "special counsels" such as the lamentable Robert Hur and David Weiss. One Jack Smith hardly makes up for the foot-dragging and general incompetency that has led to the spectacle of delayed criminal trials of tRump likely happening AFTER the general elections, AND a dead cert of being dropped should the criminal win the presidency. Even after the Jan6 Committee wound up their work and issued their wholly damning report on tRump criming, Garland sat on his thumbs for more months, doing nothing that may cause the DOJ to appear "partisan"..."I'm not Bill Barr" is no defense against failure of timely investigations into the near-coup we all witnessed on Jan 6, 2021, and the events leading up to the insurrection. And now to face a possible repeat of all that...oy vey.

Your description of Trump sounds an awful lot like Clarence Thomas. That Noem infomercial looks like an effort to be picked as rRUmp’s VP. If she really wanted to appeal to him, she’d have had her teeth reconstructed to look more like a 14 year old.

Good morning, David...ah, yes, trying to convince "the media" of the potential horrors of a tRump MarkII presidency, and getting horse-race coverage as a collective response. Sure, the NYT Editorial Board came out with a strong piece along those lines, but the Times' daily political coverage is so wanting and insipid as to inspire little or no confidence that we will read about any of the coming realities of a second tRump term as you postulated above.

Fortunately, there are countless sites online that such needed information is made available to not only lay readers but reporters as well, and bit by bit the hard truths emerge and are given currency.

Keep up the honest work, we need people like you who don'r succumb to cynicism or bogus framing of the critical nature of the November elections...bravissimo!

That Trump II could be expected to be worse than Trump I was a safe bet since whenever the current cycle began. (I think that’s early November 2020?)

The bases for that is that is Trump’s pathology in which the clinically insane narcissist had to turn around the humiliating electoral defeat by any and all means. That started with J6.

Next is the quality of the last appointees — insane people willing to support and enable him no matter what.

All the reporting since has added little when it wasn’t enabling and empowering fPOTUS’ threat to the nation.

He was unfit since 2015 and only grew magnitudes more unfit. And the mainstream media aren’t helping — us, I mean. Their support for fPOTUS and his party is literally harming the nation. The exceptions to that are too few too matter. (An example of this failure goes back to early Covid when the media were too chickenshit or whatever the excuses were to note the following:

Trump was dead wrong on the facts when he minimized the threat of Covid.

They treated his health tips for treating Covid with drinking bleach or what as some sort of joke while they ignored and continue to ignore that ~half of US Covid deaths are attributable to his failure of leadership.

I could go on but now I’m boring me.

It's really too bad some ex-boyfriend of his latest "conquest" didn't finish him off in Studio 54 50 years ago for the bullshit he was doing then.

The failure to imagine isn’t uniquely American, but we have perfected it to an art form. The German Jewish people in the majority couldn’t imagine the horror of Kristellnacht until it happened, despite almost six years of Hitler telling them they were subhuman, illegitimate, illegal, not pure enough. And then they watched him dismantle the democracy bit by bit until he could launch his horrors upon mankind…

I understand the sense of disbelief, who would have ever believed the same people you have gone to church with, shared a meal, worked beside, had your children play together, would ever condone such a thing and even embrace it. Because that is where we are, and you will see people follow blindly down the path of destruction, and if they even do realize their mistake, it will simply be too late.

Bravo David! Preach it!

Trump II/Project 2025 - too bad there's not a condensed

bullet points on this manifesto. More people HAVE

to read it and understand it's

not just Trump, but the people behind the scenes

that will be the puppetmasters of his presidency.

Just 1 more republican needs

to either retire from the house or take extended sick

leave. Just 1.👍

Vote Blue 2024!

If that's Kristi Noem's smile, I'd hate to see her glare. She looks like someone just asked her if she performs the same "services" Marjorie Traitor Goon does at her crossfit gym down there in A-fa-ray-tah Jawjuh (hint, read ms. Goon's husband's documentation in their divorce).
