Even if these criminals are pardoned, they should be sued for civil damages. It’s probable that this is already being pursued. Having been convicted, the evidence against them proves their actions beyond a reasonable doubt, which far exceeds that required for a civil judgment. Collection of such a judgment might be difficult, but it will haunt them long after their prison terms have ended or would have ended. At least some of them are employed and their wages can be garnished. It’s weak sauce for the injured parties, but it would give some satisfaction. Trump can’t pardon them from their trampling of their civil responsibilities.
Oh good. Mass violence in support of trump = no consequences. Large peaceful protest where a dozen people throw rocks = call out the National Guard or even the army, over state governor's objections.
I fear that when the good old hunters of immigrants realize there aren't really THAT many who are criminals, they are going to indeed sweep the neighborhoods to put on a "good show." Meanwhile, where are they going to deport them TO? What if their native country won't accept them? Drop them from planes?
On your list you forgot Palestinians. Harris was at least possibly persuadable. Trump is a death ray.
For a revealing bit of election post-mortem, one can gain a load of info on the success of right-wing "influencers" and their wealthy backers, from pod-casting, YouTube channels, bloggers, etc., that the Dems and "progressives" simply cannot match, and who were very instrumental in reaching the "young-male" cohort to get them out to vote for tRump. Taylor Lorenz lays it all out in her UserMag report here:
All these calls from progressives here on Substack and elsewhere in the blogosphere to organize for - you know - "#Resistance" just have little idea what their up against...the amount of financial support flowing to the right-leaning influencer crowd cannot possibly be matched by those trying to build an equivalent community on the left, and the Dem elites JUST DON'T GET IT.
Do read the above article, it puts the new "influ-sphere" in proper perspective.
Most of the "resistance" articles I've read involve using GOP stalling tactics at the government level, litigation where appropriate, and simply refusing to give up empathy and help on the personal level. I hate to say it, and at 80 I might not last long enough to see it, but I think the "resistance" is going to be from disillusioned trump voters--or even more, the apathetic who didn't bother to vote at all-- when the economy goes south and their wet dreams of the culture wars don't pan out the way they want.
Thanks for the link. That article is very enlightening! I suspected as much and it’s great to have the breakdown of the sources that she provides in that article. If we’re not aware and don’t try to duplicate similar left leaning content (not lies but real content), we’ll not reach people.
Nepotism is going full steam with WV’s boss hog Governor Justice appointing his wife to a 9 year term to the WV Board of education. Justice will be a new Senator and longtime chum of Trump with Capito . Take a deep dive into red state nepotism. His dog will go too? 🤡🐶🤮
The overall explanation for Tuesday’s disaster is of course Democrats voters’ failure to turn out. The explanation for that implies a huge, unbelievable amount of stupidity.
I’m going to stick with my preference: as consistently for the past couple of decades, the party failed to give too many any reason to expect that they’d make things better enough to be worth getting off their asses. We settled for occasional crumbs and endless exercise in cowardice til we had our fill. Kamala and far too many ended campaigns running as alt-Republicans which nearly never is successful. But that’s the party Clinton gifted us and here we are.

In this blame game, “Who bears the brunt of Trump victory?”, I find the analysis by Robert Reich most HELPFUL:

No news is good news today.
Nothing to see or hear here....just the death rattle of a Democratic Republic.
